Yeah...Pikes Peak could really use a map.
Well slap me in the wrist and call me a filthy casual, but I could really use a HUD map for Pikes Peak. Without co-driver I'm basically driving blind, and since the cars we have have around 1:1 to 1.5:1 power/weight ratio, I foresee lots of face-tree incidents in the imminent future.

Maybe we can have HUD map in practice modes and remove the map in the actual run?

i plan on updating my google spreadsheet[docs.google.com] and my steam guide with this new information just as soon as i get off of work.

i know it's not exactly what you're hoping for, but it's something.

The "basically driving blind" feature is part of hillclimb. Its why you get 10 practice runs befoer each event.

Agreed; I have given up for now, I don't have the time or the interest in tooling around at 50mph in hopes of remembering 156 turns eventually.

I already regret buying into the early access aspect, and had I known the game would be this sim-heavy, I probably wouldn't have bought it at all. I can't imagine how much rallycross is going to suck at this rate.

You regret buying the game you have clocked in the most hours according to your profile.

It's awesome that you have to learn the map. I was completely hopeless when I started playing it, but after a few hot laps I began to remember the hardest sections and eventually ended up second in the final standings (4th, 1st, 2nd).

Be patient, learn the map, you will get better after some time. That's what rally is about. Why are you buying rally game if you don't want it to be challenging?

You think Rallycross will 'suck at this rate' because you have decided this game isn't for you?

Good luck with adulthood...

Yes, if the AI in rallycross is hard as it is in rally then playing that will not be any fun. At least with the rally section you have the fun of driving the stages and not watching the computer cars drive off into the distance. Excuse me for wanting to have fun with a game.

What are you doing looking at my profile anyway, you creepy stalker?

LOL. I get you as I have been banging on about fun in a few posts too - but what we need to understand is that fun in a 'sim' is a different beast and I guess we either buy into this or we don't. If we don't then perhaps we should have done more homework first.

Fun, like many other things is in the eye of the beholder.

Not sure if your problems with the game are the games fault. Just looks like you made a wrong decision to me.

Yup, I made a decision based on the last 8 or 10 games in the series, not realizing they would go so far to the opposite end of the spectrum with this game. Live and learn.

Stick with it and I'm sure eventually you will begin to see what it has to offer, perhaps when you feel more in the mood for something a little challenging :-)

EDIT, Perhaps use it as a gauge considering you have already bought it :-)

So the 405 is actually pretty driveable. The Audi and 205 would fly off the road in a heartbeat, it felt like something was wrong. Being able to split some torque forward helped a lot. I'm still miles away from the AI, but I can at least make it up the hill now, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

I accepted the challenge. I took a LOT of time to memorize Nordschleife without a map, let's see if I manage to do the same with Pikes.
