The "no retry" league system can be circumvented.
So my racing buddies and me really appreciate the "no retry" system in the custom leagues. Sadly, it can be broken quite easily. At this point, if you don't allow stage retries in your event settings, all it does is removing the "retry" and "save and quit" option from the the pause menu. It doesn't do anything beyond that. So what you can do is just quitting the game by other means, such as killing the process or just pressing ALT+F4 during gameplay. When you boot the game back up, the stage that you just quit is ready to be tackled again, effectively yielding unlimited retries until you're satisfied with your time / result for that stage. The only penalty is having to wait for the game to boot back up and loading the stage again. You're free to ALT+F4 even after you crossed the finish line in the stage, only after you confirmed your time from the result screen and the game displays "uploading results" the time you've posted is set permanently.

What should happen instead is something like this: If you start a stage that has no retry option, as soon as the stage loads, a DNF should be written to the database, which you can overwrite once by crossing the finish line (probably needs some salted hashed session id management...). If you quit and come back to the stage, a "DNF" entry would already be waiting for you, obviously not letting you enter the stage. Naturally, there needs to be failsafes for the event of a internet connection drop or unavailability of the RaceNet servers, a "retry uploading results" routine at the end of the stage would be required. If your game / computer crashes during the stage though, well then, I guess you're out of luck. But I'd take league result integrity over this any day.

That being said, the daily challenge, appears to be a true "No retry" affair. If you ALT+F4 a daily challenge, it won't let you back in. It won't list you as DNF or with the max time limit though, which it does if you choose to retire normally from the pause menu or wreck your car. Which is why I'm not sure if it's on purpose or not, maybe it's a bug that only inadvertently leads to this desirable result.

With weekly challenges, things are again a bit different. There is no "retry" option in the pause menu during the stage, but there is a "save and quit" option, which essentially is the same as retrying, but with the minor penalty of having to reload the stage as a whole. Weekly challenges results can be wiped and restarted again as a whole anyway, so it's not that severe of a problem, but it is a little bit odd.

On a final note, the event retry option, if set to true, only allows you to wipe the event results once you completed all stages of that event, if memory serves right. I think you should be able to restart the whole event at any moment you choose, if event retries are enabled. When you have a horrible run on the second stage, why are you forced to complete all the remaining ones? You already know that you're gonna restart the event, essentially wasting your time on the remaining stages. Do not waste the player's time. Ever.

(I posted this in the Codemaster Dirt Rally forums as well for visibility.)

Le système de ligue est bien mais il y'a des choses à revoir comme: avoir des classements des event au lieu du classement de la saison, pouvoir modifier une saison afin de rajouter des events ou les modifier.

Good points you're making. However with the weekly event there really does need to be the option to save and quit as not everyone is going to have time to race all events at once.

Save & quit can be done after every stage. If I don't know if I have time to play a stage, I don't start an event stage. It would make me rage if I did, and was having the best run of my life, then didn't make it to the end of the stage because I had to get off my computer. Even if I could continue later it wouldn't compensate for that. xD If a sudden emergency comes up in the middle of a stage and you have to quit the game, well, that's life. You could always pause it and leave the game there until you can continue if feasible. Could happen with any game and cause you to lose even hours of playtime.
