For the rallycross I want the PVP with collision on .
Please codies, add Staggered or simultaneous Starts with Collisions ON/OFF for rally and hill climb.
"Rallying, also known as rally racing, is a form of auto racing that takes place on public or private roads with modified production or specially built road-legal cars. This motorsport is distinguished by running not on a circuit, but instead in a point-to-point format in which participants and their co-drivers drive between set control points (special stages), leaving at regular intervals from one or more start points. Rallies may be won by pure speed within the stages or alternatively by driving to a predetermined ideal journey time within the stages."
- Start at the same time, no ghosts
- Start at the same time, with ghosts
- Start with a few seconds delay with collisions
- Start with a few seconds delay with ghosts (not 100% convinced about this one)
That way, everyone will be pleased. Because if I play with my friends, I would want collision, I know they will play fair.
Also, as many have mentioned, you don't actually ram in rally. Yes, in some arcade games, sure. But not in rally.
The idea of starting off with some intervals, just like in real life would only be pretty good for some serious tournaments, that would last all day and everyone would know their time when to join the server to start driving their stage. All this for small possibility to see car colission. Well, if one driver is a douche; I would expect the slower driver would pull off so the faster can get past the slower one to continue being better. Hey - you asked for a simulation, just not what you expected, isn't it.
But why am I writing this, you don't want to understand anyway.
I really endorse this mode either with ghosts on or off, just no collision.
Staggered starts I just can't see how it could be fun. Few seconds wouldn't be enough, you'd spend half a stage stuck behind a slower car. If the delay is more than just multiply it by let's say 8 people.
In previous CM titles the amount of time spent actually racing vs spent on lobby/waiting had always been a major issue. When I sit down to play, I'd just like to get into a race with minimal effort.
Thing is, staggered starts would work only for larger and realistic competitions, where everyone knows their time of their start of all stages like 1 week before. Of course you wouldn't wait in lobby. Well you probably could in the meantime be on teamspeak/mumble and talk with other drivers or co-drivers (if we have coop), but you also could just turn on your computer 5 mins before your start. You know, just a super realistic simulation as realistic as it can be, perhaps with little role-playing elements, like they do it sometimes in ARMA simulations. Not for all people, that's for sure, but fun as nothing else for others.
As for ghosts, it would be a nice option to turn on and off for normal (not staggered) multiplayer games. Turn it off for some realism of not knowing others' times on mid-stage or turn it on for a little more direct competition. More important thing is there are no restarts in multiplayer, so whether ghosts are turned on or off, it would be still fun for me.
Yes.
1. Have you ever seen a real rally?
2. Is this english or klingon?
Personally i think that the only correct way to do the multiplayer is to let everybody (ex. 20, 30, 45 people) start in the same moment, but for everybody it would look like they are driving solo, just at the end you would get a post-game screen with the scores.
It is not demolishon-derby, or rallycross and it is not meant to be a good way to spoil everybodys fun.
I mean, I don't think that it's really hard to implement both simultaneous start and staggered start, both with ou without ghost....
Why some of you want to impose one way to all other players ?
