Where can i find my save profile so i can have multiple profiles?
I let my flat mate game on my PC sometimes but it becomes an issue when he can't create his own profile to race his own championship.

If i found the save file, could i remove it, let him create his own profile and then just swap them into a seperate folder depending on whose playing?

I thought it may be in the Dirt Rally Documents but i don't see it.

Appreciate any help

yeah i think that should work, if it dosent you can try disabling the cloud in the game properties

i had found the save file earlier when i was trying to get my game to work. where is it.... ill edit the location in this post ina sec.. if i can even find it lol....

EDIT: OK took me awhile but i got it! its in: C:/Steam/userdata/*UserNumber*/310560 and then i guess save both local and remote foldiers in there? local is empty for me but my game is broken so ya....
by the way there was only 1 foldier in userdata for me , and 310560 is the steamid for dirt rally

Should be at this address
X:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Steam\userdata\#userprofilenumber#\310560\remote

Thanks guys. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Maybe i should disable Steam Cloud also to be safe.

you can try it without disabling first and see if it replaces the files you took out when you start the game, if it dosent fill remote or have your profile loaded, your fine. just kinda more convenient to have cloud enabled, if your game crashes you wont lose data i believe

Yeah good point. Cheers
this is a great point though, why not multiple profiles/ careers? or even a guest mode?

I have friends and family that come over and love to take my games for a spin, not much of an issue normally, but with DIRT Rally, I know I'm gonna be watching my hard earned cash barrel rolling down the side of a greek mountain.

Just sharing my results. It worked pretty well. I was hoping that renaming the 310560 file wouldn't make a difference but sadly once i rename the file say ''John', once the game saves, it then creates another 310560 save file the same as ''John''.

It isn't a big deal but i don't trust ''John'' with swapping out my save file safely lol
Oh well.

Edit: happens with Steam Cloud disabled also

I was planning on starting a separate career this coming weekend with a mate coming over to do a bit of rally with a few beers. Is there a working solution to this issue? Would be nice if we could run multiple careers from scratch.

Though swapping saves is fine too if it works.

I guess if you had your 2 profiles in a seperate folder, you could just swap them out depending on which one you want. But by the looks of it, you always have to name whatever profile you put in ''310560''.

Not sure if that makes sense, hopefully someone else could explain it better. I would practice swapping profiles before opening a few beers anyway ;)
With steam's new family sharing you don't need multiple profiles, as long as your flat mate has a steam account he can play on your machine without overwriting your save.

Ecellent. Didn't even know such a thing existed. If only i knew about it months ago lol
I wasn't sure about the steam share thing so I went in balls deep and tried it. Seems to work fine by just backing up the old saves and storing them separetely and then deleting them from the file. This gave me the chance to create a new profile.

I then deleted the new profile and copied the old one back over and it worked fine.
