Clutch settings?
I am not exactly sure if this is intentional on Codemasters' part, but the clutch in this game is extremely unforgiving. Now, I know that this is supposed to be a hardcore sim, but I played rFactor, iRacing, Asetta Corsa and the like, and never have I ever encountered a more unforgiving clutch in a racing game.
I was wondering if there is a way to change the pedal setting to make it slightly easier to use.
I am using a G27 wheel.

YES!!! Agreed! So annoying.

As Dirt 3, i use DXTweak 2 to fix the Clutch Value, For my T500RS is the curser.
I increase the middle, with that, the input value is higher than the raw value.
Problem with the clutch is fixed!

Clutch is great as far as I see..maybe we need a gear-grinding sound :)
I use
Sensitivity 15%
Dead zone 25%
Range 100%
In logitech Profiler on a G25

+1 Took the words right out of my mouth. Maybe a clutch saturation setting would fix this?

same problem when i change the saturation on input config file. to fix the saturation use DXTweak 2

Thanks, I'll try.
Is there any option to get clutch working while using sequential shifting? I know that it's not much real, but I used to it in RBR.

To use clutch with sequential (or even with racing/rally paddle shifter) IS realistic... you have to use it when the car is not moving to insert first gear or reversal and start running. A "normal" sequential is handle much like a motorcycle gearbox. You only miss clutch on paddle shifted road cars.

check these videos.... Solberg's subaru use paddle shift... he must use the clutch for start, the other is a s2000 rally car with mechanical sequetial and uses clutch for start and when car is not moving at the end of the stage

grancab, thanks. I see. OK, so I hope the devs will implement the funcionality into the game shortly.

It's actually pretty much the same in GRID 2, The clutch isn't super friendly, if you happen to pop your shifter just prior to hitting your clutch, No go. gotta put it back and retry.

While annoying, teachs you to slow down on your shifts.

you can use DXTweak 2 to make pedal clutch giving 100% value at the beginning of movement... it makes easier to change gear, you don't have to full press pedal to be able to shift.

Great suggestions guys, thanks! I'll be sure to try them out when I get back.
I am starting to get used to the clutch, but I still screw it up from time to time.
Additionally, at times my car just pops out of gear without me doing anything.
If this is intentional and I have damaged the gearbox then it's great and I like it, though I am not sure if it is.

I am having the same issue but it is very annoying now..I think the problem is u need to press the clutch the full range for the gear to go in..But when am entering a corner i can't remember to press it the full range each time..So the gear doesn't go in..And it messes up my drive...I used to bear with it..But now they released the new German road tracks and now it is very annoying somehow...I sent them a message on the forum as to why they aren't any clutch saturation and dead-zone settings..Hoping they would add it in in an upcoming update..meanwhile i am going to try that DXTweak 2 and see if it can help me out.....

No video game will ever come close to evening being a pale imitation of a real manual transmission.
Platinumsteel Jun 29, 2015 @ 6:10pm
yes but what really is a ''real'' Manual Transmission? Different Vehicle Class different transmission settings..Then u have owners adjusting there Timings..So what really is a real manual transmission pal?

there's no option to assign a clutch to any button. I don't even see any option for clutch when assigning buttons
