By open map do you mean Open World like Forza Horizon 2 or something. No man, this is a normal point to point Rally game, no open map stuff.
That would suit an Dakar game tho
Do you watch WRC on TV?
The point to point stuff is just as much as any rally game should be.
I want a game that has a map a true map that you can drive on point to point and have a map or even track that can change depending on the rout of the map.
I dont want to see just a point to point thing. I hear we have like 4 tracks per enviroment or something like this. Do you want to restrict the game because its got a point to point system instead of a system of taking map road system and making it a point to point system.
Well thats how Rally works, even real Rally. Its a set stage and you fight for best time, there is no choice of routes. As i mentioned that happens in Dakar Rally, you can chose some kind of route. i have been playing Rally games since CMR 2.0, its alway a set route you drive on.
If you watch WRC you will see its all set point to point tracks, no picking routes, not sure if thats an official rule or not but thats how it works.
I hope im understanding what are you trying to explain
I might see what happens in this new patch thats going to be released soon but im crossing fingers its nothing like the orgional dirt / WRC games that are out on the market atm.
Haha it wont be like previous Dirt games. But i can tell you right now it will be same Rally system as in real life. CMR might not be offical WRC game but it follows same rules so that wont change anything with stages.
So i guess best thing you can do is wait for a Rally game with things you like.
WRC 5 will be the same system when it comes out. See, every stage is unique, even reverse, but unlike before they wont mix stage 1 and 2 to make it stage 3, so in that perspective each stage is unique. Thats what happened in WRC 4, recycled stages.
Best WRC games are on PS2. WRC 2 Extreme to WRC Evolved. Actually Dirt reminds me of those WRC titles when i think about it.
WRC 2 extreme i never heard of that what was the difference between 2 and extreme edition but evolved who the blood knows, i brought the top down version of WRC and i have brought WRC 1 and WRC 2 and felt terribly ripped off. I will never do that again with WRC.
Anyways.
WRC 2 Extreme, WRC 3, WRC 4 and WRC Evolved are PlayStation 2 games made by Evolution Studios :)

IT'S MENT TO BE ARCADE FUN!
Haha was showing you thats im not talkig about Milestone WRC games on PC,PS3 and Xbox
No I've never driven a rally car in real life but as a teen I did wreck the ♥♥♥♥ out of my car driving like an idiot on dirt roads the same way I did the first time I tried RBR on my first corner lol so that's a pretty good sign.
RBR is a really awesome sim from back in 2004 I think guys are still modding and racing in racedepartment .I was one of them that joined in the rally leagues really enjoyable times
Nothing has come close in my thoughts
We have moved on to Assetto Corsa and R3e just purely for those awesome graphics and physics
My son has just bought Dirt Rally so have yet to give it a go and my thoughts
