Of Mobil 1 British Rally Championship (Rally Championship 2000) ...
This is shaping to be an interesting rally game. So I thought I'd point out a few things from my favourite rally game so far.

Mind you I was never a rally enhusiast and I'm generally not very good with rally games. And while I sucked major ass in RBR, Dirt games on the other hand felt too arcadey to me. But I aboslutely fell in love with RC2k all those years ago (despite the fact that only twice did I at least finish the first rally of the championship) and wanted something similiar with modern graphics for quite some time now. Errr, anynways...

- Number of rival drivers (times to compete against) in RC2K was 98. When I started playing the demo, I ranked around 80th place, but with each attempt I got few places higher, until I finally got to the ranked top 20 and even hit a first place few times. (It never became easy enough for me to finish 1st reliably though. And that's a good thing.)

Thing is, in most rally games I try I usually end up dead last and after several attempts with same result I just quit playing. I really miss that sense of progress I got with 99-position roster. It imo served as great motivation to keep the player engaged with the game despite his (mine) current lack of skill and generating those times seems relatively cheap development-wise. So if player can (or will in the future) rank against virtual drivers, I hope there will be a similiar great number of generated times to rank against, because I'd much rather be 80th of out 99 and slowly getting better than 12th/12 until I quit :D

- The other thing is the track length. I'm sure everyone who played RC2k loved those super-long stages, many of which could easily take well over 20mins (some maybe even twice as much?) to finish. I don't think I've seen such long stages ever since and would love to see something like that again in better graphics. Sadly I don't remember Dirt tracks going much over 3 minutes, so I'm not holding my breath on this one >_>

Err, that's about it I guess.

Oh yea one more thing. Afaik in Colin/Dirt and probably most rally games the turns are ranked as 1=hard 5=easy. RC2K had that opposite. Being able to flip it would be nice, ahem >_>
