I just noticed that Dirt Rally is no longer available to download at Steam.

It got delisted by Codemasters, its a regular thing they do to their titles (Dirt, Dirt 2, Dirt 3, Dirt 4, Grid no longer available either).

We assume its a licensing thing (as in cost) but many other game developers/publishers don't seem to suffer from it - including in other WRC & Rally titles (such as KT Racing).

Dirt Rally got delisted on Steam in November 2022, shortly after the Steamdeck was released (which still seems nuts to me as its the perfect Steamdeck rally game, high framerate and low power consumption).

As for Dirt Rally you should still be able to buy the physical media (CD Rom), whether that has an active Steam Key is another matter (Dirt Rally integrates well with Steam via the Steam Workshop for car setup sharing etc).

Just googling did show some sites which offer a download. No idea if they work if downloaded (a downloader exe).

Yes, as long as it is in your library you can download it as is the case for delisted games, only a very few games are 100% removed.
