Which game is more newbie friendly: this or Dirt 3?

Can't say I am a huge fan of rally racing games, or racing games in general (although I certainly have my favorites in this genre), I really wanted to try the famous Dirt series.
I own Dirt Rally and Dirt 3, and they are one of the most critically acclaimed in the whole series. I also own Dirt Showdown, but that game came as a gift with my laptop.
So, I just wanted to know which do you think I should try first - Dirt Rally or Dirt 3?

Dirt Rally games focus more on realism where Dirt games are arcade like.

I`m thinking you`d find Dirt 3 more fun. Dirt Rally can be frustrating for new players.

But I heard Dirt 3 is also pretty hardocre. How is it more accessible than Rally?

Dirt rally is known for being really hard to master. If you don`t play these types of games you`re likely using a game pad. IMO sim style games need a wheel set up. It`s just too hard otherwise.

Having played both now, I think I like Dirt Rally more. Sure, it's way more harder to control the car, but it also feels way more rewarding, at least for me.

A vast difference - you have to adapt to Dirt 3 puny grip a couple of hours, then just start winning. Dirt Rally I felt familiar perhaps after 100 hours....quite a difference.

DiRT Rally is more difficult to master but is certainly the better (more realistic) game. If you are looking for a more arcade racing experience then go with DiRT 3.

that's true, i get really frustrated by the championships lol

I consider myself a race fan I did own a wheel till it broke and now I race on games I can with a controller. Dirt rally is hard on controller and i I get very frustrated I've ended up spending 1 hour on just one stage trying to get a good Time to only go onto the next stage and causing 90% damage to my car and getting DNF'd it's worth a try but I'd agree try dirt 3 or 4 as they are more beginner friendly
