What do you use as handbrake?
I'm looking for some inspiration here, as I have a DFGT and assigned the handbrake to one of the buttons on the wheel. But, when I'm cornering 'intensively' I can't reach any buttons.

Anyone else want to have a handbrake within reach that is not on the wheel itself? How did you solve it?

I use my old logitech attack 3 joystick, stands on a vase table of some kind perfeckt hight and some weight on the bottom plate and big elasticks to hold joystick in place. its works good cuz now i have a axle handbrake that stands next to me under steering wheel hight.
And now i can use my sequential shifter so i dont have to use little paddles on DFGT.:thumbalift:

And i use a sidwinder USB1 steering wheel as a second pedal set for clutch use(Does not work in Dirt rally cuz no sequential clutch support, but use in assetto corsa for now :)
Had these things lying around for years befor i realized i could use them, cuz i was stupid :(

Brilliant Guy, I'm going to try using my thrustmaster T.16000M as a handbrake then

I don't use the handbrake, ever.
I drive group b exclusivly and group b cars didn't have handbrakes as todays WRC cars.
Also it's more of a challenge that way.

Glad i clould help, and hope it works.

As for never using handbrake, Its rallying!
I dont use in Group B but with other cars, nothing beats a nice handbrake turn:thumbalift:

Hydraulic handbrake connected by USB port and pressure switch.

More examples can be seen on this thread.

Group b cars did have handbrake, it was traditional placement not like a modern wrc car.
Quattro AWD was a different driving style so it was rarely used. See Audi works Quattro

Had the same problem with the DFGT. Solution: Use the big button in the center of the wheel, because it doesnt change its position! Its not perfect, but it works for me.

B button :)

On G27, as I use sequential shifting, the 4th gear is my handbrake. The only con is that I need to remember to put the gear lever back into the neutral (or 3rd gear) to release the handbrake :) But it's in a nice position and I don't "press" it accidentally, which was happening to me with the on-wheel buttons.

Lol that's brilliant Manfraid, I even forgot that the logo is actually a button

I don't use the gearstick on the Logitcech Driver Force GT, so I adpated that as the handbrake.

I use Left Shift as handbrake. Yea, I'm drive with KB.......
Oyster Aug 2, 2015 @ 2:26pm
Since I'm driving with sequential gear I use the 4th gear of my G27's H-shift as handbrake. It's been good.

I use a MOMO. The sequential stick on that thing is pretty horrible for shifting, so I use the paddles. Turns out the stick is a great handbreak. :)
