G27 pedals mod fyi
The problem I have always found with my G27 pedal set was the lack of real tension on the brake pedal, you have to try to judge how far you press the pedal to avoid locking up. ITRW a brake pedal has hydraulic tension as you press down and if your pedal hit the firewall you're in the ♥♥♥♥ anyways. So in an attempt to improving my braking performance acroos the other sims I play but in particular Dirt Rally I researched brake mods.
Now being close to retiremant and also not wanting to pay more for a load cell than the whole G27 rig is worth I found http://www.gteye.com.au/ who do a spring mod and you know what yesterday it arrived in the post, I opted for the full set, now when I brake I find a nice stiff response with tension building that feels real. The throttle is more responsive to smaller increments mainly because of the increased resolution from the Bodnar cable I installed last week, but I could also feel the difference in the spring return and tension. As for clutch I have that axis assigned to handbrake with sequential paddles for gearbox. All in all I'm very happy with the rig now and once I've taught my old brain not to hold back on braking as much I'm sure my driving will improve. If not, who cares as long as it's fun right.
And when you consider that all of us that sim race are reaaly doing our bit for the environment, and the global economy. I mean we're not burning up fossil fuels, and I've found the engineering team can fix the car and have it roadworthy in the time it takes to make a coffee, who can complain about that, and they don't complain, or answer back, or arguew with me. So there you have it, thanks Codies for helping me to help the planet.
Bye

I'm using the same mod, it's really good for the price.

Almost $70.00 for 3 springs ? That's crazy. Those springs cost around $1.50 to manufacture all of them. Not a good deal at all.
