Rally Cross - Clean racing or crash fest
So I'm really excited for Rally Cross, however I am concerned about the attitude I've seen about Rally Cross. I've been told that in real life RX you can wreck people intentionally without penalty. I don't know enough about it (not much RX coverage here in the states) to know if that is true.... however I am going to be pretty mad if RX becomes more about contact and wrecking eachother than it is about racing properly. I just hope there will be a system already in place to report foul play that goes beyond what you'd typically see in a rallycross event in real life....

really the last thing I want is to go into Rallycross PVP and feel like I'm playing a NASCAR game on PS Network or Xbox Live.

Most of us playing are 30+ years old. We should be able to come up with closed leagues with some sort of agreement. I'm thinking we can set something up requiring post-race replays and a voting system if a question is raised. The moderator could also keep track of the amount of collisions being made by any particular player. Would be nice if they automatically compiled stats.

I'm 21 and i do all for have clean race too :p
I think we can have clean race because ppl who buy this game are simulation's player :)
love the old footage from Murry Walker (i can't even watch Bathurst anymore it's so boring) hopefully Codies will give us something mid ground.challenging, aggressive but not destruction derby. given that most of the cars ingame are from the 60"s to 80"S i think it would be logical to stick to the rules from those decades
I admit I'm a bit more pessimistic about having "clean" online racing after my experience in Project CARS. Not only was there the occasional idiot who would stop his car in the middle of the track around a tight corner, sometimes groups of people banded together to blockade the road entirely. It wasn't for every race, but it only needs to happen a few times to ruin your experience.

I sincerely hope this ♥♥♥♥ doesn't happen in Dirt Rally, but I'm not super optimistic.

The World RX championship streams all their events on Livestream, and you can watch the whole season in the archives.
Sure you really get stop and go penalties for causing serious damage to other drivers especially when their car fail in result of your caused crash, but still rough contact is standard... what i call tactically crash someones flank/intersect corner.

The reason is real cars pretty fast get damaged so hard you pretty can't win the rallycross... loose spoiler, flat tires etc.

Noone risks a direct crash-impact because basically noone want to crash his own car.

In Dirt Rally... you drive 60mph into the next concret-wall and have your cooler wrecked only 10-20% lol :D THATS THE PROBLEM.

This also goes for rally and hillclimb.... whatever you crahs against at whatever speed... your mostly fine.... rarely a flat tire..... but sometimes when you fall of the piste, especially in monte-carlo your suddenly wrecked.

Weirdo or Captain Obvious.

More damage and higher repair cost will automatically make competitors in online-events be more carefully, like in real-life.

I love beeing reckless to KI in local championsshiop... because these a-holes are too, sometimes they flunc me right from the start.

A compilation of crashes with 70´s & 80´s cars willalways be more exciting than are 2915 race cut down on 1 1/2 minute :)

IMO we have to accept that times have changed and so motorsports
Motorsport had been same as long as I remember from 80's. Cuople drivers drive as fast as possible with a best cars they can bring to race.

I think people should learn to race (using the whole road - not 1 line) in a pack.

IMO nothing worse than damage off. More over the 3D line assistance thing whatever its called is a stoopid idea... they never wanna get off it... 10 million hours on one line on one track is not racing

That's ridiculous. You can slightly bump another RX car a bit to get it of its racing line in order to get ahead or just nudge them a bit on the side. Crashing into them and destroying both your car and the other one is not something you should do or even get points for. That would be outrageous and childish!

You bump them when you make a genuine mistake or you shove them forward to say hurry up. After a while if you cant pass them you loose the race. What a concept... loose the race.. huh.

Note the can not pass bit... if you can not pass -> you can not pass.

Its all about them taking away your lines NOT you knocking them off theirs. Try overtaking! Try find a way past and the place to do it....

^ Thats racing .

One of the achievements for RX is to finish the race ...leading....in reverse.....hehheh
So rallycross and the word crash -> its beyond coincident - there are some that have the ability to kick you from online when you flog them outright and/or overcome or play with their hacks/efforts. I am not talking about the event host either... or maybe it is but its not a normal "kick" its more of a "crash"
