I am happy that some developer actually did this "slice through time"-selection of either iconic or at least exemplary cars of historical value! And for the afficionados of today's competition, I'd say the 3 rx-cars that was hinted at in the new blog-post do fill that niche quite well. Also: there are still cars to be released along the second half of e.a. timeline. So nothing to worry.
I actually find it remarkable that we currently have such a broad variety of cars in this game. Officially licensed at that! So while I do understand personal lists of "want", I have to point at what we have and ask this question: is this not one of the best car-lists in a rally-game so far?
edit: and yes, especially today's wrc cars fall under "difficult terrain". Like it or not: the official license is held by some (my oppinion:) second-rate guys in Italy. Not Codemasters. Goes to show how much I despise "exclusive licenses". They (exclusive licenses) are the devil!
+1 completely agree.
There will be more modern cars added in October, so let's see what that brings. Personally, I'd love to see an S2000 class added; they have 2 cars modelled already, if they could add a Skoda Fabia to those two it would be one of my favourite classes bar none.
Personally, I like each class to have a few cars though; regardless of era, I'd rather each had 4 or 5 cars than twice as many classes with only 2 cars in each.
I also like that they have bring many different ages of cars but many of those is taken from Dirt 3... Nothing bad with that but if so, then I think they also can make som R5/ "new" modeld S2000/WRC cars.
But Im a sucker for the newest cars so... hehe
Tomas, I agree that a lot of the original content uses models from DiRT 3 but I think that's why the later content is scheduled for the year's end, to give them time to create models, sounds and physics for new machines. Already we've seen a new Lancia and the Kit Cars.
I would suggest that the reason for no 2000s class in the game is because no models existed for it at the time of launch, so I imagine that they are being created for the Modern Masters pack, hopefully along with a couple of the newer WRC cars. I'd like to think we can pursuade CM to release a few more cars as DLC post-launch as I would love to see more of the lower-class machines from the last few years.
