DiRT Rally
R5,R2,R4/N4 CARS ANYONE?!
Is it only me that truly want to see MODERN rallycars like does above in this sim?

It feels like codies and many on this forum only wants this 60-70's cars and some few cars from early 2000??

Im I to young or what? :)

This sim really needs does modern ones like Skoda S2000/R5, Fiesta S2000/R5, Peugeot 208 R5, Citroen DS3 R5, Mini S2000, Mitsubishi EVO - N4/R4, Subaru Impreza N12-14, Fiesta R2, Opel Adam R2, Peugeot 208 R2 etc....

It will be for me at least, if I use small words, a BIG "diss" to not implement does typs of modern rally cars in this modern sim/game.

It's cool to have cars from many eras but this modern cars should be the big part I think.

The younger guys at home wants to drive the cars their idol drives at the events right now.

And for me, it seems like codies has forgotten about the modern rally cars of today.

Fill in what you think.

And of course the WRC cars aswell. Licens issue or what? Codies needs to speak about this. I hope so anyway.
Well, there is always the possibility to expand this game beyond the originally planned release date. But to answer your most-important question:

I am happy that some developer actually did this "slice through time"-selection of either iconic or at least exemplary cars of historical value! And for the afficionados of today's competition, I'd say the 3 rx-cars that was hinted at in the new blog-post do fill that niche quite well. Also: there are still cars to be released along the second half of e.a. timeline. So nothing to worry.

I actually find it remarkable that we currently have such a broad variety of cars in this game. Officially licensed at that! So while I do understand personal lists of "want", I have to point at what we have and ask this question: is this not one of the best car-lists in a rally-game so far?

edit: and yes, especially today's wrc cars fall under "difficult terrain". Like it or not: the official license is held by some (my oppinion:) second-rate guys in Italy. Not Codemasters. Goes to show how much I despise "exclusive licenses". They (exclusive licenses) are the devil!

Just bring a Ford Focus with 1999 martini livery and everyone will lose their minds.
i actually like the older cars (but i'm old) gives the game a unique feel about it,i would like the Subaru N12 but other than that i'm happy with the cars so far, besides there might be licencing issues with certain cars, i know Toyota wants money for the old GT4 to go in the game
A lot of the cars you mentioned will drive very similarly though- whereas what we have now requires us to master many totally different driving styles and techniques. I much prefer a different feel of car rather than than just seeing a different badge on a replay. Obviously I would like more cars, I'm just saying that if I had to choose one or the other, I prefer the 50-year range of cars to a full selection of modern cars.

+1 completely agree.
Originally, I would have agreed with the OP but I've really grown to love the nature of the game and it's actually expanded my interest in rallying history. The Fiat 131 has become my favourite car in the game.

There will be more modern cars added in October, so let's see what that brings. Personally, I'd love to see an S2000 class added; they have 2 cars modelled already, if they could add a Skoda Fabia to those two it would be one of my favourite classes bar none.

Personally, I like each class to have a few cars though; regardless of era, I'd rather each had 4 or 5 cars than twice as many classes with only 2 cars in each.

I'd like to see the classes we have now fleshed out a little more, plus an early WRC-spec class (2000's). I'd also kinda like to have alternate ways of grouping the cars so you could run rallies with all the cars that competed in the same class (instead of having, say, 2 separate Group A classes and 2 separate Group B classes as we have now). Even better, although I can't imagine they'd ever do it, would be to be able to pick a year and a class and filter by that, but I'm starting to digress.

Ok it was only me then who wanted a great deal of "new" cars like the R5 and so on. Okey.. :D

I also like that they have bring many different ages of cars but many of those is taken from Dirt 3... Nothing bad with that but if so, then I think they also can make som R5/ "new" modeld S2000/WRC cars.

But Im a sucker for the newest cars so... hehe
Great point about the different eras Jason, I couldn't agree with you more; seems strange to have the 84 Quattro in a different class to the 84-85 037 but the same class as the Delta S4. Same with the Alpine, if it arrives, being in the 60s class when it often rallied against Stratos' (Stratai?).

Tomas, I agree that a lot of the original content uses models from DiRT 3 but I think that's why the later content is scheduled for the year's end, to give them time to create models, sounds and physics for new machines. Already we've seen a new Lancia and the Kit Cars.

I would suggest that the reason for no 2000s class in the game is because no models existed for it at the time of launch, so I imagine that they are being created for the Modern Masters pack, hopefully along with a couple of the newer WRC cars. I'd like to think we can pursuade CM to release a few more cars as DLC post-launch as I would love to see more of the lower-class machines from the last few years.
