I don't think mouse is even supported in the menu as far as i can tell. I know there's software you can download to use a mouse in games. I know very little about it but just happened to see a video about it yesterday from someone i'm subbed to.

For self centering, you could attach bungees to the axle/other wheel and now you're styling better than the X360 controller users.
Or even better, set the mouse above the axle so the optical sensor will track movement there. The options are limitless.
Therefore, mouse support is a viable option. :)
Just because of this memory I'd like to welcome mouse steering support in DiRT Rally.
