Why can't I switch two gears at once with sequential shifter?
If I'm let's say in the 6th gear and want to get into 4th gear I would logically simply press shift down twice. In reality that would mean using the gear lever twice and then moving the hand back to the steering, but the driver is simply ignoring my addtional button presses until he finished the animation of moving his hand to the gear lever and back to the steering wheel so I can no way shift down fast enough in medium corner.
This is a totally stupid limitation, or is there any good reason for that?

Well at least it puts you on a level playing field with those using "H" shifters. :)

Actually I'm a bit slower with sequential gear shifting than with automatic, plus it makes driving more difficult. But that idiot of a driver (or that person that doesn't let me skip gears) is switching the gears so late that it hurts my ears to hear the engine on it's limit for, what it feels like, a few seconds. Also he is partially switching the gear back down from 2 to 1 for no obvious reason, seems like he intentionally wants to ruin my ears.

Everything you have to do yourself if you want to have it done right.

I don't think playing field needs leveling for shifting methods. H-shifter users can skip gears if they whish, sequantial shifters can't.

This game is/wants to be a simulation, so there can be no justification for artificial limitations.
And even the automatic can skip gears.

If you want to experience a super realistic simulation then:

A) none of the rally cars in game feature an automatic transmission
B) With the exception of only a very few, the large majority of the cars in game have h pattern shifters.

So if you want the game to be a pure sim so bad, maybe you should request they remove automatic all together and only allow sequential shifters on cars that really have them. Otherwise that entire quote contradicts your other posts.

My problem with the sequential gears is that the automatic gear shift seconds faster then the sequential. So if you are in the auto mode, you can reverse almost 20 seconds faster from 4th gear. Thats a huge advantage that auto shouldnt have. If sequential gearboxes where that slow no one would use them.

Well, you can at least skip from any gear to 1st with sequential (hold down the downshift paddle). Would be helpful to be able to do the same for 2nd, though (but no idea how to implement that).

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh

That's a nice trick

Yep, would be nice if you could shift down gears by holding the downshift button in sequential shifter. It's a pain in the lower area of your back to reduce gears in tight curves, while at the same time turning, applying handbrake etc. It's doable, but being able to downshift faster one could keep the engine in high revs during the turn more consistently, unless you downshift well before the actual curve to prepare for the time needed to reduce 1-2 gears more.

I normally brake using gears and footbrake and haven't had any of the issues that OP is mentioning :D

sometimes i enter a corner in 3rd, but then i shift down into the corner. When the engine starts to stall i simply shift down further and then it's all good.

guess it's all about driving style.

That's true, but there are some instances when I wish I could change gears faster (not to mention that second gear change will not register when you hit the button/stick to early), and not de-accelerate too much using engine breaking, for example when aproaching hairpins and turns after long straights.

Shifting down to one by holding the shifter is no solution. I've tried it many times and it completely ruins my concentration and often leads to crashing.
