According to https://www.dirtgame.com/events less than 10 people has done the dailies... Dafuq are you doing codie?
Earlier today it said:
"We're sorry RaceNet is undergoing rutine maintanance but once we've finished tuning the
engine we'll be back on track. Thanks for your patience!"
(It was written lilke that without commas, so don`t blame me.. )
So that was probably it then...
Cheers :)
For some unexplained reason Dirt Rally loses connection to Racenet either just before an online event begins or in the middle of an event. If I stay in the game after it has lost connection to Racenet, I cannot access any online events. However, if I close the game and restart it, then Racenet connection is back and I can access the online events again. However, the online event that I tried to access/play has now become corrupted and I cannot play/continue playing it anymore. Here’s shortly explained, what happens:
- With community challenges, the connection issue always happens just before the start of the event. I can access the challenge, I can setup my car, but when I press “start” and the stage is due to start, the game begins to load and after 5 seconds of loading the game reports “The Racenet service is not available” and I get returned to the main window of the game. If I try to access any online events, the game tells me that it cannot connect to Racenet. If I close the game and re-start it, the connection to Racenet works, but it shows me that I have already driven the challenge (although I haven't).
- In the league events the game always loses connection somewhere in the middle of the event, between stages. When the problem occurs and I close Dirt Rally and re-start it, I can return to the event and continue playing it from the previous save-game spot, but as soon as I come to the point, where the game lost connection first time around, it loses the connection again. It’s like there were an invisible wall or loop that hinders me from continuing beyond that point.
I’ve tried reinstalling the game, I’ve checked the integrity of the game files, I’ve disconnected and re-connected my Steam account to Racenet, but nothing seems to work. This has totally killed all my interest in playing online events in Dirt Rally.
Is anyone else experiencing similar Racenet connection problems currently?
I’ve sent mail to Codemasters and they’ve replied to me that my message has been forwarded to their tech-team, but it seems that their tech-team is fully occupied with Dirt Rally 2.0 issues and preparing the F1-2019. Thus, my message has disappeared to a black hole, and I suspect that writing another message is not going to create any added value. Thus, I’m turning to you and hoping that someone might have had a similar connectivity issue and maybe there’s a remedy that I haven’t yet found.
I would be very grateful for any help or advice on this matter.
..maybe they do this on purpose, racenet is down for me atm and i cannot upload my current score, lol.. and if i close the program everything will be lost of the current progress, codemasters just suck.
where are the days when u don't need an online connection to play a fkn single player game?
After my recent comeback, I discovered these annoying issues..!
I don’t know if it’s intentional (damned Dirt Rally lovers) or a real problem about traffic generated.
Cheers !
Thanks lightningboy, this sounds very promising. I have already tried uninstalling&re-installing the game on Steam, but I didn't realise that the uninstall doesn't wipe out all the game folders. Were there many folders that you had to manually remove, and were they all under the Dirt Rally folder or does the game spread folders wider under the Steam folder structure?
Did you manage to pinpoint, what was the custom livery that caused this problem?
First time since re-installing Dirt Rally, which I did less than two weeks after DR2 release if you catch my drift, that I can't do a daily because of Racenet problem. Good thing career still works perfectly, how dumb would it be if I couldn't play singleplayer because of Racenet problem
