Yea but that sucks really. You are in a lobby and all you see is some times coming up? What is that!? Thats like now, when you drive a stage and look at the community times????
If thats the PVP for rally, then codies will destroy this MP section.

We will see how they create it. For me, its a no go, if they create the PvP as "drive a stage alone and see the others stage time when you finish" Then its like driving offline more or less.
But if they listnen and gives us option to create lobbies with real staggered starts, and the other stuff, then its include something for us all.
I really hope to se an improvement from Dirt 3 MP with staggered starts. Thats real rally.
But that's rallying.
Again, there's nothing realistic about cars setting off at 20 second intervals.
Plus, my word it would be annoying having to try passing people. Lose that and you make it impossible to have wreckers, people carelessly in your way, collisions as a result of lagging; all the things that can be really frustrating in lobbies of circuit racing games.
Would ghost cars be a fair compromise to you?
I have answer you but you moved it? :) anyway, you got my answer, and yes its rallying to look at others stage times! :)
But I want the realism, the feeling that we accual rallying the stage in a real event. With the Dirt 3 start sequense, you got that feeling. Im not a expert at english so I cant explane my self in a good way, but you maby understand "what Im search for"...
PvP RX, we sitting together on the same track, races togehter as in real, we see the other drivers.
PvP Rally should be the same, We wait in line in the start (as Dirt 3) we see the cars in front take off, we drive the stage and after that, we see the times for the stage.
All I want is a real start sequense. Now, its just lame in Single player, and I think the PvP will be the same.
Ha, sorry, yes, I think I moved it when you were in the middle of writing it! :)
This. ^ Not to mention all the griefers and other frustrations that come with multiple drivers being on such a narrow course at the same time.
I don't see the point of ghost cars on the track either. Who wants to see the image of another car racing in front of them while trying to focus on a Rally course? That would be an incredibly frustrating distraction in my opinion. It's hard enough to stay focused and keep the car on the road without that kind of distraction adding to the difficulty.
but it would be great to choose between ghost car PvP and Hard core rally sim PvP
Which is why it should be an option. If you dont like it you simply turn it off, but it adds a lot of challenge and motivation when you can see how well the other guys are doing in realtime.
Otherwise whats the point just look at a spreadsheet with times on it.
It can be done with simultaneous starts as well. You get to see the split times of those that already passed that checkpoint.
I really see no reason of having staggered starts in PvP. The delay would need to be big enough not to encounter others cars on the stage, unless they crashed or just drive too slow to mess up others fun. In real life how many times do you see cars piling up on a stage?
Also I wonder how many players would patiently wait 2:20 at the start line for others to take off just to run a 3-7 minute long stage (with 20s delay in 8 player lobby).
Ghosts could be an option for simultaneous starts, but personally it would just distract and annoy me. Had it turned off in WRC4 for this reason.
