Transmission versions?
So here's a question;

There are various options for the gears in DR, more than the usual Auto/Manual, is there an explanation anywhere of what the differences are?

Depends on what kind of input device you are using. Apart from auto, there's H-pattern + clutch if you're using an H-shifter, or man. seq. for upshift/downshift via paddles, seq. shifter or simply two buttons on your keyboard/gamepad. And then there's the clutch override function if you wish to manually clutch in certain situations, even though clutch is generally automated (as it is in man. seq.).

So, i was thinking more along the lines of, Auto - Semi Auto etc.

In fact, those are the two that confuse me.

Auto: the car change the gears himself.
SemiAuto: is like the auto but you can change gears manually anytime.

Ok, thanks.

Sequential(semi-auto) are closer to manuals than automatics. You've got full control of the clutch and gearbox, the main difference being you don't need to lift-off the throttle or apply the clutch to change gears. They shift quickly and they're very reliable, but can only go up and down by 1 gear at a time. That means coming into a slow corner, you'll have to clunk your way down one-by-one. Thankfully that happens as quickly as you to tap the downshift paddle.

Mechanically, they're actually a kind of manual 'box with two clutches and gearshafts-one for odd-numbered gears and the other for evens. That means you don't need to engage gears; the system just swaps between the two shafts, which is a lot faster and can be done even at full throttle and max RPM.

Sorry, i probably should have been clearer about this, i'm referring to the options in game and how the game handles those two.

Manual Sequential/Semi auto is designed for Paddle Shift Wheels and Controllers. You've got a clutch, but don't need to use it for anything. You can also change gears at any RPM, and while staying at full throttle.

Manual is fully manual, including clutch and lift.

Automatic does everything for you.

Sorty, for ressing such an old topic, but its still actual, so no reason to create new one.

I have a problem in DR, although its not the case in other racing games.
I have Thrustmasrer Ferrari GT with seq. padfles, and changing gears is not even close to change "as fast as I press", moreover it ignores my paddles pressing until around one second has passed since it changed the gear.

It turns out to be a problem on some corners, but esp. when I get to switch between Rear and any other, keeping in mind that I also get to bypass Neutral gear.

Is it conflict of the game with my controller, or can it be fixed by tweaking something in the game itself?

For those, who assumes it being realistic, spoiler alert, its not. I was driving a car with sequential paddles IRL, and it was not particularly racing car, and it was reacting to me pressing paddles as fast as I could press.

That delay isn't normal and it certainly isn't realistic, even primitive paddle-shift cars from the early '90s were faster than that.

Let's start with the obvious causes; check your User Settings and make sure the trans is actually set to Semi-Auto/Sequential and saved.
