To simply answer your question: Yes.

The biggest issue I see using that particular controller (I own one) is the fact that the triggers are not analog, but rather on/off. As a result, you'll have less control with brake and throttle since you'd be either full on, or full off... no gradual throttle/brake press.

However, the same is true for those who use a keyboard, and they seem to manage just fine :)

For me, I started playing the game with a wired 360 controller (analog triggers), and upgraded to a Fanatec CSR steering wheel and pedals, and as you can imagine, was a huge improvement. If you're going to use a controller, you may want to look into getting a pad with analog triggers for more control on braking and accelerating.

Bottom line: You can definitely play this game with a pad and have a great experience (I did). If you have the money, I would recommend a wheel.

Yeah, I did and it works really well. Took a while to get used to, but start off slow and build pace as you get more comfortable.

My solution for the analogue triggers is just to use the right stick for throttle/brake. Means you can't do a right-foot-braking effect, but otherwise works OK.
