Lets rank Dirt Rally locations from Favourite to Hated.
Since Modern Masters update nowhere in sights might as well give some locations feedback.

1st) Germany.
Initially I found this location to be rather underwhelming, since it didn't have the loose grip, rough terrain, terrifying jumps or sections near the cliffside 1cm from death or anything that would make it exciting. In fact Germany felt the least Rally out of all available locations.
But the more I played, the faster I wanted to be, the more I realised the simple beauty of just having a track with no gimmick to it, a track that you don't have to learn through hours of trial and error, and a track that won't try to murder you by placing a challenging hairpin after the fast section that would kill you if you execute it in any way other than perfect. Just: you, car and your ability to get the most out of it.

+ Good control of the car
+ Zero chance of bull sh*t happening: like your car randomly spinning in place or you bouncing of the tiny bump right of the cliff
+ Pure test of your ability to push your car to the limit with no enviromental challenges to get in the way
+ Good speed, good destribution of turns
- A bit boring on slower cars

2nd) Wales
As good as gravel racing can get.

+ It nails the perfect overall speed
+ Good variety within tracks
+ Good combination of fast and slow sections.
- Small piles on the side of the road will bounce your car back on hit, resulting in a lot of cheap crashes.
- Too bumpy in some sections

3rd) Greece
Pretty much Wales 2.0 Only difference is that it's overall slower with more hairpins

+/- see Wales
- Slower than Wales, maybe too slow
- Too many hairpins

4th) Monaco
Feels similar to greece, only on tarmac. Plenty of harpins with slow overall speed.

+ Good control of the car
+ I like that as you ascend/descend the track changes: from having zero snow to small amount of snow on the side of the road to full on winter section as you reach the peak with 100% snow and ice surface. Gives you the sense of journey.
+ Only track with varied surfaces
- F*cking ice sections
- Too many hairpins
- Too narrow, although that maybe a plus for some

5th) Finland
The worst track in DR by far. A boring straight line track with easy turns, made artificially difficult by the constant jumping which makes you loose control of your car and blocks the vision of where you are going. Making you completely rely on your codriver, who is ♥♥♥♥ in Finland and will only tell you the turns (correctly if you are lucky) and will not inform of how challenging the turn is or whether there is any danger on the sides of the road. Combine that with v2 cars being too lightweight and too loose on the suspension and you have a very frustrating journey.

+ Speed
- Cannot drive by vision, because it's obscured by the hills
- Codriver tells you half of what you need to know
- Too easy on a slow car
- You constanly loose control becauuse of jumping and there nothing you can do about it, because jumping is required to be fast
- Too long, longest tracks in the entire game, both by length and by time.
- Helium, Helium everywhere. Am I driving a car or a Zeppelin?

6th) Sweden (Guess)
Monaco's ice sections: the location? Thanks, I'll pass.

1) Wales - To me, the first thing I think of for rally is dirt/gravel, and Wales has it, combine this with a good variety of turns and the like, it's easily my favorite locale.
2) Germany - Very fast with some slower technical sections, and some rapid elevation changes in places make for a wild ride.
3) Greece - Generally wider roads, and more elevation changes than Wales are nice, but the hairpins are quite tricky for me compared to the other locales.
4) Monaco - In some ways it's like Greece with tarmac and snow. I enjoy the snow portion, and the paved areas are pretty fun, but it lacks the speed, excitement and variety of Germany, and all the laybys full of cars can be a pain sometimes if you're trying to feel out a new car on these stages.
5) Finland - It's fast, it's covered in dirt, and there's lots of jumps, but the borked pace notes make it difficult to enjoy at times, and the corner variety is fairly limited, with lots of 5's, a few 6's, a fair number of 4's, and the occasional 2 or 3, square turn, or hairpin. While it can be exciting, I enjoy navigating more technical stages, or high speed areas with more long tern elevation change rather than rapidly going up and over crests, and down into dips.

Glad I'm not the only one who didn't like Finland. I thought it was due to not being familiar with the track yet, but after 3 12 stages championships full of pain and misery, I am convinced that it is due to bad pacenotes and track design.

"- Too long, longest tracks in teh entire game, both by lenght and by time." how can this be a negative aspect? The longer the better

If you crash at the end of a long track you have more content to repeat, and needless repetition is bad.

1 - Wales. love those narrow gravel roads.
2 - Finland. Really like those fast gravel roads even tho they are too wide and are therefore too fast comparing to real life.
3 - Germany. A bit boring but nice to drive.
4 - Greece. Nice narrow gravel roads but damn i hate that hairpin section.
5 - Ice sections ruins it for me. Otherwise its awesome.

Here's a novel idea: Try "not crashing."

This is a silly topic. If it were "name your favorites," it might make sense, but the topic creator's "best to worst" list has nothing to do with design choices and everything to do with their lack of skills.

I'm pretty sure most of you complaining about Finland simply don't understand how to use the brakes, or how to jump straight.

Here's a even better idea! Lets reset the entire event every time person crashes!
There is limited amount of content I'm willing to repeat if I screw up. Long sections are aready 25-33% too long imo, forcing you to repeat too much of the content you can do already if you screw up the second to last turn. Long Finland sections just go on forever, making you wish for them to end already even if you do not screw up.
There is no objectivism when it comes to entertainment (Finland pacenotes are objectivly awful though :steammocking:), I created this to see what kind tracks people like and would like added. So far it's Wales/Greece gravel tracks yay, snow tracks nay.

You are literally complaining that a game with 10 minute stages is too long?

Do you realize Rally stages are intended to be 20-30 minutes each?

If you can't even keep a car on the road for 10 straight minutes, you're not a very good driver, no matter what you think of yourself.

I think the point of the game (and of rally as a whole) was totally missed here. I mean, long stages? Screwing everything up in a corner? This IS rally, dude! This game is giving you the best rally experience possible, enjoy it! Better take your train of thought and restart it from scratch (if it doesn't take too long of course :))

It's about game being enjoyeble, not about whether or not I am a good driver. And yes 10 minutes of on the edge content is too much. Especially if you have to repeat 8 of them over and over again if you go for the 1st place and the track has particulary bull sh*tty section near the end.

Also, I find it very amusing that the person who only won 1 championship and has 150 hours calling me a bad driver, when I won 5 (2 of them at master, Finland included) and 4 stages away from beating 3rd masters with 2nd place on Finland event.

1. Monaco

Because i like the conditions changes, only a pitty that tire choices isn't in the game.

2.Wales

I love it, it's a classic. Feels real good. Only i miss the different surface. Like tarmac to mud to gravel, maybe a DLC with the old lombard rally stages...........

3.Finland

Rally with speed i like it. The reall challenge because if in a doubt flat out.....

4.Germany

Great tarmac terror. But i miss the wine stages.

5.Greece

It's good but not my favorit.

PLEASE CORSICA(old) Because we have tribute for Colin and Richard.
But not for Henri and Attilio.......

San remo............
+ Audi s1 e2

Bloody hell! It's spelled Wales, not Whales!

Why would you restart? Rally is about living with the consequences and not hot lapping.
