1. Connect all your devices and start the game.
   
2. Find ‘Direct Input Device‘’ in the Choose Preset within the Controls menu.
   
3. Next press F1 to change the ‘‘Direct Input Device‘’ type to ‘[Steering Wheel]‘ and press ‘‘Return/Enter‘’ on the keyboard to confirm.
   
4. Now assign all controls, as required and the Advanced Wheel Settings option will appear.
   
5. Go to Advanced Wheel Settings, select Calibrate Device and complete the process.
   
6. Return to the Main Menu, select Profile, Driver Details and select Save Profile.
   
7. The next time you re-launch the game, at the title screen press ‘‘Return/Enter‘’ on the keyboard rather than a button on any of the connected devices. After the title screen you are okay to use any device as normal.

Note Step 3: If more than one ‘Direct Input Device’ is connected, then change all their types to [Steering Wheel] and this will ensure that when you bind your controls the correct Advanced Wheel Settings menu will be displayed.

Note Step 7: Pressing ‘‘Return/Enter‘’ on the keyboard at the title screen should prevent the issue that some users are experiencing, when their device bindings are lost and the game reverts to the default preset.

I just did this with my Thrustmaster T150, following the guide step by step, and it did NOT work.
At the next start the game did not recognize that I pressed the Start button (or any other button on the wheel), so I had to hit Enter, which of course deleted all my setup again.

I really liked this game when I had a G920 wheel and before I had to reinstall the game.
My wheel worked pretty much out of the box. I was able to set up my Thrustmaster T8HA shifter with no problems also.

Now I have a Thrustmaster TX wheel, which I like a lot more with the 3 pedal package. It works but I have to manually set it up. I got it close but not where it should be.

If you select the preset for this wheel it is an impossible joke to drive. Also now when I try to setup my shifter as an H pattern, the settings allow me to select each gear to be mapped but when I do it snaps back to unassigned. So I cannot use my shifter any more.

I have read all I can read about this issue but nothing has helped.
I really liked this game and would like to again but I have let it sit for months because of this frustrating wheel and shifter support. I just fired the game up again to try and get it set up but I give up after spending too much time on it again.

I find myself just giving up and playing Pcars all the time.

Any help on this?

Just loaded the game and can't seem to get beyond the "Title" screen. After the "Auto Save" message (2nd screen) clicking "enter" button on keyboard KICKS ME OUT of the game. What's up w/ that??

FSR wheel and CST pedals, I followed your instructions, and all seemed ok, but when I exited and reentered, using keyboard as noted, it still did not load my settings. Please address this, it is a real pain to go thru whole setup every time to play. Thank you.

Is a bug, do NOT map the escape key to the controller/steering wheel. Mapping it will reset the bindings next session,

I Have an Thrustmaster Enzo Ferrari. I have to reconifugre it every Game-Start. I Do all steps you says, but if I go back to game and press Enter and look in the Control-Menü, all is configured to Keyboard...
It would really be great, If you can save/load individual Controller-Configurations, so I don't have to setup my wheel every time :(

This is one of the most convoluted setup proccesses Ive ever seen. That Ive spent over an hour just trying to get this game to recognzie my TX wheel/pro pedals/th8a is a joke. Im sure glad this game was free.

Maybe an update to this post a bit.

Since update i cant play anymore with Logitech Driving Force GT. If I play with XBox Controller or Keyboard all is just fine. But with Driving Wheel i have stutters and freezes. What can I do? the RWDs are unplayable with controller, so the game is a whole waste of money for me anymore... assetto corsa and project cars working just fine, even F1 2015.
