Radeon R9 380 Gaming 4G under 60 fps...
Hello People^^

I have a problem,
I bought a Radeon R9 380 Gaming 4G 4GB

The problem is that at ultra Settings, i only get max 45-50 fps.....
Same at midle settings....

But with my old GTX750 2GB OC....
At high Settings 60-65 fps
and at midle Settings 75-80 fps....

What could it be that the R9 got so much Problems?

Sorry for my bad english ;)

Na gott sei dank^^
Ich fahre besser mit 60 fps als mit 30...
und jetzt habe ich auch ein wenig bessere grafik >:)
The performance is about right for a R9 380.

I used to own a HD7970 GHz edition & it is more powerful than a R9 380. I was stable at 60fps on ultra, but the card was pretty much near the limit.

On my 980Ti which is factory overclocked run around 55%~usage with 4xmsaa 1080P on ultra preset locked at 60fps.

If you reduce the shadow detail to medium. It should fix you issue. The difference between Ultra & medium is not very noticeable.
maybe u can try turn off ground cover in graphic setting... i use my gtx 970 setting ultra vsync on x4msaa and turn off ground cover can get 83fps with overclocked monitor 83hz... if i turn on ground cover the fps will drop and inconsistent...

Stick to NVIDIA cards. At that price range, gtx970 kills it.

The r9 380 is a lot cheaper than the 970. Also the R9 390 is a much better product than the 970 at a similar price point.

By the way, I own a 980Ti

Advanced Blending is the answer for your question. Disable it.

bumping old thread. i was searching for answers about AMD vs Nvidia. Looks like Nvidia wins this battle. I went from six core FX processor to i7-2600k and got some improvement in FPS. but wasn't satisfied with how my R9 380X Nitro handled DR. got another R9 380X Nitro for crossfire, and on LG 34um57 Freesync OCd to 30-80hz i still couldn't max out all settings to ultra to keep frames at 80. the problem is when frames drop below 80 i get stutter. last week i tried DR with MSI GTX 1060 OC Armor, and even though my system benchmarks lower with 1060 in every test i ran, nevertheless the DR runs much better with 1060 card than two R9 380Xs in crossfire. with GTX 1060 i could use ultra settings with 4msaa and frames would stay 65-80 (80 capped) on 2560x1080 without any stutter even in rainy 6 car rallycross. it seams to me AMD just sponsored codies, but the game is not really optimized for AMD products (CPUs and GPUs) in comparison to Assetto Corsa in which i can max out everything with 380Xs and have FPS at 80 capped. from this experience i've learned two things: Nvidia cards work well with cheaper (compared to Gsync) freesync monitors using max refresh rate, and Dirt Rally works much better with Intel CPUs and Nvidia GPUs. the 1060 card i got from work for testing and now i'm definitely getting either GTX 1060 or 1070 and will try to sell two 380Xs. other thing to note is resolution - it's possible that 380Xs would perform better than 1060 with higher than 1080p, i haven't tried it.
