And I'm running win 10 anniversary update version. The wheel works perfectly with Codemasters recommended 540-900 car related turn degrees etc. I can recommend a FF profile if you want.

Any idea why I need this piece of software for Win 10 when I didn't need it on Win 7?

Only one solution that i found is - you need to download driver from logitec page. Unplug your Driving Force GT and uninstall logitec profiler. Then reboot your pc and install earlier downloaded driver. At the end of installation it asks to plug in controller.
And now it works aggain.
I followed this schema already many times.
