Am hopeing to try a tx on the xbox at some stage to figure out the difference
The Thrustmaster Tx is a nice value when bying the upgraded "leather-rim" bundle.
Logitech's pedal-bases feature a rather functional retractable grip-strip for use on carpeting if you happen to have nothing to hard-mount it to.
Both are 900° of rotation, both are x-box "ONE" - licensed (so you are ensured in-game support on x-box ONE titles .. if that is of any importance to you).
The tm will be smoother in it's ffb, but it is belt-driven and noone knows how long that un-serviceable part will hold it's tension. If I am informed correctly, the Tx/T300 are slightly stronger in maximum sustained torque-output and a tad quicker to rotate than the current Logitechs, as well -- but not by much.
The G920 is gear-driven with the odd copy exhibiting some slack in the motor-bearings leading to audible rattles in certain moments.
Adding to this:
My T300 has been giving me no trouble for about 2 years, now. My G25 was still going strong after 8 years of use when it got replaced by it.
If you are not going to play on console, I suggest you consider their playstation(4)-licensed sister-models instead (1080° of rotation) if you are interested in pretend-driving old car-models that use that amount of steering-angle.
ps.: I run my T300 in "forced fan-mode". Out of the box it is set to semi-fanless, but it can run into a mild overheat-condition that way which triggers an even faster fan-speed and reduces peak-output on-the-fly. With the allways-on fan (which is significantly less noisy than it's maximum speed) I have not yet triggered any decreased output in the way I use my wheel. Also: the sound it makes won't leave your immediate surroundings / your room, so if you live around sound-sensitive people, that would be a reason to go TM.
I tried both wheels and I must say the Thrustmaster was worth the extra money, but only if you upgrade the pedals. Only reason that i would rather get the Logitech is the price.
Pro´s of the TM in my opinion:
-The TM wheel is a bit bigger, which just feels nicer
-Also the Force Feedback seems better, more detailed and stronger.
-Logitech makes a strange and quite loud clonking sound everytime the FF hits. I recon its because its belt driven?
-interchangeable Wheels
-the feel of the buttons and especially the shifting paddles is not as flimsy
-not sure if the T8A Shifter works with the Logitech, but if you want a nice shifter down the line you can plug it directly into the wheel
Can´t say anything about longevity yet of course, but i guess theres no difference there. You can be lucky, or not.
One thing I notice the logitech is $254 on Amazon which is like 36% discount? yet there is no discount on the TM
hmm
The Thrustmaster has serious quality control issues so many people bought it and had to send it back over and over because it kept dying WTF.
Where I live I have to pay for international shipping when I buy from Amazon and there is none of this locally, so it looks like I cant' go with TM guess I have to go with Logitech just to be safe
damn i really wanted the TM but whats the point of buying something so expensive that would last 1 day or a few months?
I've played the Forza titles and never found they deliver a realistic racing experience.
