Should I buy Logitech G920 or Thrustmaster TX?
My first time at sim, never played driving games but really wanna get that authentic experience of driving something like a real car. Thinking of buying Forza 7 for PC. Now the G920 can be had for $250 on Amazon and the stick shift is an additional $60 US or so. But the stick shift looks very cheap, too short too small and plasticky.

However the actual wheel and pedals on the logitech are significantly cheaper than TM by like over $100. And on Amazon i saw a couple say don't buy TM because the wheel dies in 2 years time.

So which would you guys go with and why? how big of a difference is there between the logitech and the TM? in terms of actual quality, authenticity and longevity?

I read the pedals on the logitech is better but some say the wheel of the TM is better? how so? anybody care to explain the differences between both? and why the TM is so much more expensive?

If the extra money is worth it then I will spend the extra. But it needs to be worth it I know right off the bat the $389 TM looks more real while the G920 ps4 looks more childish. And what if this belt thingy stuff vs the gears in the wheels? how much better does the TM 300 or whatever feel compared to the logitech?

Anyone want to get technical and explain the differences to me? if you guys swear by a SIGNIFICANT step up in quality of the TM and the double price point justification then I will strongly consider putting the extra money.

I have a G27 on my PC and love it. Bu tthen i have a G920 on the xbox and cant stand it. Weird.
Am hopeing to try a tx on the xbox at some stage to figure out the difference
if it is your first wheel, then get whatever tickles your fancy.
The Thrustmaster Tx is a nice value when bying the upgraded "leather-rim" bundle.
Logitech's pedal-bases feature a rather functional retractable grip-strip for use on carpeting if you happen to have nothing to hard-mount it to.
Both are 900° of rotation, both are x-box "ONE" - licensed (so you are ensured in-game support on x-box ONE titles .. if that is of any importance to you).

The tm will be smoother in it's ffb, but it is belt-driven and noone knows how long that un-serviceable part will hold it's tension. If I am informed correctly, the Tx/T300 are slightly stronger in maximum sustained torque-output and a tad quicker to rotate than the current Logitechs, as well -- but not by much.
The G920 is gear-driven with the odd copy exhibiting some slack in the motor-bearings leading to audible rattles in certain moments.
Adding to this:
My T300 has been giving me no trouble for about 2 years, now. My G25 was still going strong after 8 years of use when it got replaced by it.

If you are not going to play on console, I suggest you consider their playstation(4)-licensed sister-models instead (1080° of rotation) if you are interested in pretend-driving old car-models that use that amount of steering-angle.

ps.: I run my T300 in "forced fan-mode". Out of the box it is set to semi-fanless, but it can run into a mild overheat-condition that way which triggers an even faster fan-speed and reduces peak-output on-the-fly. With the allways-on fan (which is significantly less noisy than it's maximum speed) I have not yet triggered any decreased output in the way I use my wheel. Also: the sound it makes won't leave your immediate surroundings / your room, so if you live around sound-sensitive people, that would be a reason to go TM.

If you want a simulation, don't bother with this. It has a lot of game-breaking bugs that really ruin immersion and turn the game into a chore to play. The drift kiddies think it's a realistic simulation though. The physics update was encouraged by forum spammers in early access rather than real world drivers working with Codemasters. Even the lead designer said he could argue that the update was rushed because it introduced bugs.

Me and my colleague got ourselfs a Simrig quite recently, he went with the Logitech G920 and I got the TM T300 Ferrari Integral (with the better pedals and wheel).

I tried both wheels and I must say the Thrustmaster was worth the extra money, but only if you upgrade the pedals. Only reason that i would rather get the Logitech is the price.

Pro´s of the TM in my opinion:
-The TM wheel is a bit bigger, which just feels nicer
-Also the Force Feedback seems better, more detailed and stronger.
-Logitech makes a strange and quite loud clonking sound everytime the FF hits. I recon its because its belt driven?
-interchangeable Wheels
-the feel of the buttons and especially the shifting paddles is not as flimsy
-not sure if the T8A Shifter works with the Logitech, but if you want a nice shifter down the line you can plug it directly into the wheel

Can´t say anything about longevity yet of course, but i guess theres no difference there. You can be lucky, or not.

thanks a lot I may go with the TM 300

One thing I notice the logitech is $254 on Amazon which is like 36% discount? yet there is no discount on the TM

hmm

looking at youtube videos and reviews and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!!

The Thrustmaster has serious quality control issues so many people bought it and had to send it back over and over because it kept dying WTF.

Where I live I have to pay for international shipping when I buy from Amazon and there is none of this locally, so it looks like I cant' go with TM guess I have to go with Logitech just to be safe

damn i really wanted the TM but whats the point of buying something so expensive that would last 1 day or a few months?

I've never had a wheel before but picked up the G920 on release day and have loved it ever since. I never got around to buying the stick, but May one day. For the moment i just can't take my hands of the wheel long enough during Dirt to consider shifting and F12016 doesn't need stick.

I've played the Forza titles and never found they deliver a realistic racing experience.
