Any word on your Dirt Rally setup Lexrax?
Oculous has arrived but i cant get it working with Dirt Rally. I cant figure out what i`m doing wrong. any help ?
Mine arrived yesterday. All I had to do was go into the settings of Oculus home, go to General and enable unknown sources. Then just start Dirt Rally with your rift on.
I haven't done any measured performance testing as yet, so I don't know what my framerates are, but I've got everything set to ultra except I have advcanced blending disabled and it's no different to playing flat scree in terms of observable performance. I'll get round to measuring the framerate at some point.
Specs are:
EVGA GTX1080FTW
Core i7 4790k
16GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 1600
@The Spirit of Jazz - Nice one. Appreciate that. To be honest I'm mostly certain now that it is my CPU thats holding back the performance of my GTX1080. If you've not already found it, try the Oculus Tray Tool. The FPS overlay in that shows you a clear view of what you're getting in game. If its low, you can change the graphics settings and it will show you the difference instantly.
I'll give that a look and report back tomorrow with what my framerates actually are at those settings.
Oculus tray tool was reporting 90fps with occasional dips to the mid 80's.
@..SMILER.. - Thank you for the advice. I tried mine set on 45FPS and it seemed to help actually. It wasn't so up and down. Not as smooth as the sections where I can normally get 60ish, but at least it was consistent and let me run the graphics above Low / Ultra Low. I think I'm set on upgrading my CPU and RAM now, just waiting for hear was happening with the price of the new Coffee Lake chips.
I got it working , i added it as a Unknown game from within the oculous home application and start it from within Oculous Home. It runs SWEET as a nut. Steam VR was the culprit for me. I uninstalled it and boom.. No problems.
I have all settings on High and Some on ULTRA and i get a decent 60 FPS.
AMD Ryzen 1700 (STOCK),
16GB DDR 4 (3200) Ram.
Nvidia GTX 970s.
I know the CPU load does not go above 30% and GFX Cards load are anywhere between 60-90% and 44-58C while driving 3 monitors and the Oculous Rift at the same time. All that info is while OBS is running, encoding as x264 and streaming to Twitch @ 4000kbps 1080p/30fps at the same time aswell.
I am going to be upgrading to a new AMD Vega 64 GFX Card soon.
