additionally look up "the SimPit" and insidesimracing.tv (both do frequent youtube-reviews of relevant gear and sim-titles, often with the help of the OEMs loaning/giving them their products for review free of charge including Logitech, Thrustmaster, Fanatec)
If you've never really used racing wheels or just aren't sure if you will fully enjoy it you can also pick up a TMX for about 150 Euros, so like 175 Dollars.
I personally don't recommend Logitec wheels (G25, G27, G920) because they aren't officially upgradable with new pedals, different types of shifters and handbrakes, mounting on a different or just higher quality wheels, what you buy is what you get.
The Thrustmaster family (TX, T300, T500 etc) all support the same swappable rims, pedals, shifters and handbrakes, so if you don't like an aspect of your kit you can just swap it.
If you know you'll like it and/or have a ton of money to blow you can also settle with Fanatec, on their website you can order your wheels with every single bit of in customised to your liking, it is much more expensive than the TX and T300 (You can get those for less than 300 bucks) but you also do get one if not the best racing wheel experience on the market.
Hope this helps you decide man, good luck.
I personally have a TS-PC Racer with the 599XX EVO 30 Wheel, TH8A Shifter, Fanatec Clubsport V3 Pedals and the Fanatec Handbrake.
Since everything is quite cost-intensive, I only came to this equipment after many years and started with a G25.
If my TS-PC Racer fails, my next steering wheel will be a fanatec.
some friends got their t500rs since 2011....
so it's sure we will have long days with our TS PC RACER
:D
it's very nice with dirt rally, thanks !!!
but i get bored so much, there are not enough tracks.....
They should have chosen me as a tester for their steering wheels! :-D
Yes we need a DLC for Dirt Rally, new handmade Tracks and new Cars!
how can you break TS PC RACER ?
i have on it 350mm OMP WRC wheel and I give to it some much pain but it resists and gives to me entirely satisfaction.
And Dirt rally is dead, no more support and DLC.....Dirt 4 same...
It went from now on no more, the engine was defective. I have it in any case not overloaded with my settings ;-)
I hope very much for a Dirt Rally expansion, but who knows what comes ...
the only one problem i had was when i replaced F1 wheel and paddles shifter with customs, I've broken "GND" cable..it's too short.... so i had to use weld machine and soldered "GND", it's strange on my TX, i have no "GND".....although base are exactly the same...
For dirt Rally, no i'm sorry, i have no hope, it's really a dead game with no more locations or stage generator....
And if they didn't change dirt 4, it will be a dead game....we just need more slide and more variations with stages to have a perfect dirt 4 !
Please do everything but no Track generator, so something does not belong in a game with simulation claim. It is a simple means for the developer to get more variations in the game but the generated physics is like from a drawer and thus the track does not have its own character. Likewise, each car has its own character and at Dirt 4 I miss this and now we ourselves should over the setup this generate ?? Since something is wrong, I adjust the car to the track, but do not bend it so it looks like the original. In my opinion, we have been pretty ...... with Dirt 4!
Price wise Fanatecs have lost their market place since a full rig from them now I can buy a real used Mini Cooper S and beat the snot out of it. Thrustmaster seems to come in below that on their top end. If thrustmasters wheels and pedals are anything like their shifter it is worth a serious look.
Get in the game for a descent wheel without breaking the bank then it would be Logitech.
look dirt rally, it's dead....dirt 4 will die faster again if they don't update fast...
