How to make money from trade? (Campaign)
Currently playing the campaign and I am at the point where I need to fight the bandits south of Arta.

However, whatever I try, increasing production, reducing production, I cant seem to manage a steady flow of income. Its several weeks of positive balance, followed by several weeks of negative balance, sometimes with spikes of income which often dwindle soon after. I tried making more business with goods that are in demand by neighbouring towns, but in the long run, nothing I do results in a steady income. I can never maintain a positive balance.

Anyone got any ideas as to what I should be doing? Without a steady positive income, my Units are unable to fight and will abruptly lose morale in the middle of a fight.

I also have a problem of getting a steady income. I seem to lose more than I earn.

The best way to make money in the campaign is to build slowly and not rush through the campaign. Get 4 or 5 cities going and have most of the goods unlocked. That way your economy is moving forward. If you find you are losing money with say 2 units of troops, then you need to build the economy some more. If you are still making money with 2 troops, try 3, and so on. Also, use the "all cities" option for keeping an eye on production/consumption/needs. Make sure you can export to the surrounding cities as well. That way you can create more production than you need - and get growth within your cities because more business is more people, is more product needed.

On campaign i usually build 4-5 cities ne from starting city, with that loop i usually dont have money problems anymore. From there I expand another loop of cities nw from starting town. For me a loop is 4-5 cities that have there own everything.

You can find a tab showing production and demand. Keep building what's in demand, and that's it.
