Guard towers, how to use them?
Hello there.
So Im far into my campain as Poland with a healthy economy but at war with... everybody. :steammocking:
The most annoying thing is, that the enemy is sending troops to my lands to plunder, usually around 5 cavalery, constantly. Im tired of micro managing this since the troops have to be put back to heal and such.

I wonder, is the any point to build a chain of defensive towers/guard towers along the border? Will they hold out? How far away should I place the towers? Is there to much micro managment with replacing the archers?

Have anybody tried it out?

Keep several units behind guard towers to secure your borders while your main army advances on the opponent. Works for me.

The tower multiply by about 10 the attack power of your troop in it. So my 200 attack archer becomes a 2000 attack archer. It packs quite a punch and they are hard to kill. Only need a few troops to hold the enemy in place while your tower destroy them.

My crossbowmen had something like 3500 attack power in the tower! And it scale with their experience too! So yeah they can be very usefull. They can shoot pretty far too, so get a horse or 2 to catch and stop the ennemy while your tower is raining death on them is a pretty good strategy.

Make sure not to leave your tower empty, because the ennemy can use it against you!
