Question regarding tanks/armored cars
Often when I have tanks or armored cars they can only move on roads and for only one space, and I dont know why.
Am I missing something?

Are there just cars and/or tanks? If therer are infantry then they need to be able to ride and be carried on the cars or tanks (they carry very little for weight). Mountains and swamps may also be the cause. Or your out of oil.

Could you explain oil more? My oil supply is always positive, also no troops were involved and I have observed this event on just cars and tanks alone.

I have more information. When my armor units only are able to travel one space there is a jerry can symbol on it, but when my armor units can move more than that (some signifigant distance) there are no jerry can symbols.

The jerry can indicates you don't have enough oil to take the route you are trying to move along or simply that you have completely exhausted your oil for that turn. Sidenote: try to never burn all your oil in your turn because if you do when the enemy attacks then your motorized units will defend at a disadvantage because they have very little fuel. Note also even without any fuel a motorized unit will still be able to move a hex or two.

Remember that tanks and such can't move through mud, unless on a road. That might help you.

It is the lack of oil. A couple things ... once war starts, try to mass your units, with armor, and go for a near oil well or two and also try to get a RAW facility early.

I played a number of games, and I even set the opponents to -25% production, and I still had lots of trouble fighting and winning and having enough oil and RAW.

Finally, I figured out how to have fun. At the start of the game, I use the editor. I add a couple cities. That allows me to have more supplies or more fighting unites. I also ad a couple Level 3 oil facitities and RAW facilities.

The fun and enjoyment was a quantum leap up. If it becomes too easy, I will tweak what I do a bit less at a time and also I can switch the opponents to "even" instead of -25% or even have one of the opponents at a "+"or "++".

The bottom line is now I do not have a serious supply problem every turn and no chronic lack of oil or RAW. I like challenges and I never want it to be easy but it was just too flat out hard. At some point I will find the right balance to where it is most enjoyable.

Note also that the Rulevars can be changed to lengthen the supply lines and to give HQ a longer range with their bonus, among other tweaks. I'm having lots of fun now.
