TCG Card Shop Simulator: Prologue

TCG Card Shop Simulator: Prologue

Why is no one buying my card
I got a card in a booster pack worth $2,690, and no matter how hard i try no one will buy it and I'm really getting pissed. I first put it up for $2,600, then $2,500, then $2,000, now it's $1,800 and every single customer just autistically stares at it before imitating a Twitch chat user by saying "i'M tOo BrOkE!" What is the point of making a card worth thousands of dollars if there isn't a single customer in the entire game that will spend even half that much? I have had it up for sale for about a week now.

Customers wallet depends on your shop level and how many expansions (renovation) you bought. There's also a luck component to it.

Be patient, level up, buy expansions, eventually your card will sell.

I don't know because i already sold a card for $850 in the past so I don't know how many levels I'd need for someone to buy a card like this one, I currently only have one level up. It just doesn't feel worth it when I already have enough shelf space for every single item in the prologue.

You could sell a $3k card in no time at level 30 with 4 expansions bought, for example.

I bought 4 expansions, and customers will still refuse to buy anything more expensive than $1,500. Not that it matters since I've already bought everything there is to buy in the prologue, but the card would be there for literal weeks even as low as $2,000.

You must have really bad karma, because it all works in my game.

According to a wiki page I found (google Tetramon, should be one of the first links, unsure if linking other pages is allowed here), the formula for the max money a customer can have on them is

100 + (Shop Level * 100) + (Shop A Expansions * 250) + (Shop B Expansions * 400) + 500 (If Shop B is Unlocked)

This provides a base amount, and then there is a bit of randomness applied with the following steps:

A number between 0 and 1,000 is randomly generated.

If it’s below 3 (0.3% chance), the customer will have between $300 and four times the max amount (up to $75,200).
If it’s below 50 (5% chance), the customer will have between $40 and double the max amount (up to $37,600).
If both checks fail, the customer will have between $20 and the max amount (up to $18,800).

So if we assume a shop level of 10, with 4 expansions, and you didn't get a "lucky" customer (< 5% chance), your average customer has between $20 and $2100, meaning that half your customers have less than $1050.

This is before even factoring in the purchasing probabilities.

Thank you! So for my current shop in the full game my customers can have a maximum of $1,950, I'll keep that in mind.

$2k is the theoretical maximum if you are... level 4, no expansion.

You could have easily sold a $2.5k card with 4 expansions at shop level 15.
(About 1 customer in 40 would have had the money)

I just sold a card for $2.8 in a level 12 shop on day 34 with 4 expansions. How are your disgruntled customer numbers? Could it possibly have something to do with a lack of stock with regards to other items (dice, plushes, etc.)?

Literally every item that has ever existed in the universe is in my store and fully stocked, and my prices are all perfectly fair if not too cheap.
