oh, alright.. thanks :)
yeah, same here.. and sometimes i'm encountering bugs when joining server (there's a voice but the screen appeared black and nothing changed even after waiting for minutes)
We're aware of the woes of the Australian internet, unfortunately since we're still in Alpha and this is our first promotional weekend - it's going to be hard to please everyone.
That said, we're looking into adding some servers closer to your side of the sphere! Can't promise it's going to be smack down in the middle of Sydney, but hopefully close enough to reduce some of that nasty latency.
Ev
yep.. even if we got bigger bandwidth there still geographical distance problem to reach the server located in us/europe, it's just too far & high latency will be unavoidable.
thanks, finally.. glad to hear that.:)
just hope it will be available soon.. can't stand the lag anymore..
gonna take a break until the server is ready and up :D
Ping to US West seemed ~ok~ from Asia once I got in (I play MMOs, online games etc) but any work on the connection/servers would enhance the experience for this side of the world.
Hope the Early Access and free weekend work out, I'd like to see a successful full release!
We do have 18 servers located in Singapore now fully functional. Have a look, they may appear down the bottom of the list, but they are there. Hopefully you will get a chance to join one as the connection should be a lot better for you!
Just for the Australians out there, this seems like a relevant thread to post the info.
As someone in New Zealand, I can say it (fortunately) hasn't affected me. The rest of the region should be similarly unaffected.
That said, for myself in New Zealand and several Australian friends, routing to Singapore is usually pretty horrific for some reason. I very rarely find a game where I have a better connection to an "Oceanic" server hosted in Singapore (re-labeled Asian server) than what I get to the game's US servers. In some cases, instability can make even the EU servers a better choice than Singapore.
Singapore servers are useless. Pretty much the same if not worse ping than US west servers.
Make the servers in Aus/Nz and make the singaporians connect to us. They have much faster internet than us.
And that's exactly why the CAN'T have the servers here. Our internet can't competently handle that many inbound connections.
EDIT: Also, the game is absolutely playable with no sense of disadvantage at 200 or even almost 300 ping, as long as you're not getting lost packets with it. For me, personally, in New Zealand, Singapore servers are less stable and US West is the best option. For some Australian players, the same is true, and for others, Singapore is the better choice. Try both and see what works.
