Are the BGM tracks in higurashi as good as in Umineko? Because the Umineko soundtrack was f*cking awesome!

No, they aren't (at least in the Question arcs). Moreover, for licensing reasons, MangaGamer replaces the original Higurashi music. It wasn't until the answer arcs that dai started writing music for 07th Expansion.

The best music is in the answer arcs, as it's mostly original music by dai (which is amazing) the reason that a lot of the music from the question arcs has been replaced is that it was mostly unlicensed music that Ryukishi07 basically threw together from various sources, you're not missing out on much imo... the REAL music is in the answer arcs which remain intact.

As has been mentioned, the music for the first four chapters of Higurashi wasn't composed for the game — they're just royalty-free music that 07th Expansion found.

The latter four chapters feature some awesome music composed specially for Higurashi from some of the musicians who would later contribute to Umineko, like dai, zts and pre-holder.

Though I think most (not all, of course) of my favourite Umineko tracks were composed by Luck Ganriki who wan't featured on Higurashi soundtrack. "Happy Maria!" FTW.

Mirage Coordinator, World end dominator, prison strip, corruption etc... Umineko had so many epic soundtracks <3
