Blood?
Note I havn't played the visual novel. But I have watched the anime and im curious if the visual novel will be as violent as the anime. Also is the visual novel different from the anime or about the same?

It's violent, but it's not graphic. Essentially you're reading a novel with great atmosphere and music with pictures of the characters standing in front of a background.

There is some pretty graphic description of violence, but not really any violent graphics.

As for the second question - yes, the plot is basically the same, but MUCH more detailed. After reading the novel, anime (especially the first season) seems pretty rushed.

Thank you for the information, I really loved the anime and wished it was longer.

Good to hear that the music is good, kinda wish there was some graphic images.

Unfortunately the only way to have that is to learn Japanese.

My biggest debate right now is whether or not I'm going to use the new sprites or the originals.

Actually, I haven't finished the second season of anime, so I've got a question - was it ever explained whose corpse turned up in the beginning of third arc? (episode 1-09). It was explained in the novel (it was Rina ), but for some reason I think it was only hinted at in the anime.

No, they only give very slight hints, no explicit explanation.

Original for 1st run, new for 2nd one. What do you think, everyone? :lunchtime:

Simply by the existence of an updated version of this VN, this level of reasoning is possible for us.

So many comments in this thread deserve a "like", or "rate up". Steam has a "most helpful review" in the store, it needs to add this to discussions.

I've seen a great multi-media music video on Youtube, "Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni - Sublimity" It took some great scenes from multiple Higurashi sources. Are the CGs from the PS2 version? Also, where on Earth did the Chibi fights come from?

I'm almost sure that these chibis are from Higurashi Daybreak. These CGs seems to be from PS2 and PSP.

I have heard of this "Daybreak" before, what is it?

Its a 3D third-person fighting game, I've never played it but it seems to be pretty fun.

Someone needs to patch as much of the Steam trasnslation in to this game as possible. Lol. Then we just need someone dedicated enough to fan-translate the other arcs... (not sticking my hand up)

Or have I got it all wrong, and this game was signicantly more choice based than what we are waiting for?
