In short, just read them in order. Also, you are encouraged to think, and even theorize, about what is really happening. That's part of the fun. If you care about this at all, be sure to read all of the TIPS and the All-cast Review Sessions. (Actually, even if you don't want to try solving mysteries, I recommend them anyway, since the TIPS are an integral part of the story, and they and the Review Sessions are quite interesting.)
Yeah, you are right, especially about chapter 8. I just tried to give a general idea about the major part of each chapter.
And, Morbius, as fllthdcrb said, please read everything that shows up to you in the novel. Some TIPS may not look important at the moment, but everything will make sense in the end. Also, everybody will probably recommend you to try to solve the mystery by yourself. It is part of the charm of this story and one of the reasons for being my favorite novel series.
