As for Hiyoko not having a fridge... remember that hunter-gatherers do know how to dry out meat for preservation, so "Yuuya jerky" would not be out of the question. Also, wild birds are not as plump as domesticated fowl. Domestic turkeys and chickens have been bred over centuries to have oversized pectoral muscles that are not used for flying. So-called "white meat" on a bird is muscle meat that lacks the proper blood supply for intense physical use. Wild fowl can and do fly, and you will not find white meat on a pheasant or wild turkey. Yuuya could be as tall as Hiyoko and as "large" as a turkey but not as "meaty" as a store-bought turkey.
