Where do you find silk?

I've looked all over the place and killed every monster yet I've never seen silk.

Just as I say that I travel and stuble into a fight in the bamboo forest and one of the mobs drops silk! I've been looking for almost 5 hours!!

Try Kappas in Bamboo Forest. I just got one from an ambush of them.
