How to get pass troll beneath the bridge?

I'm new to turn based games and frankly suck at them but I'm starting to like them more than before so I'd like to learn. I'm on a main quest where I need to get to a town past a bridge but can't get passed a troll. I need to pay him 100 coins or beat him in a fight. I do not have anywhere near 100 coins and I tried fighting him twice and all my players died quickly. Is there a trick or technique to beat him? I have 3 players, 2 elves and a human. One is a mage, the other is a warrior and the other a healer

you need to buy armor and weapons, maybe even have a few skills to defeat it. My advice is to farm bees till you have enough coins for weapons and armor; Keep threat in mind for spell oriented classes as well.

Generally, you'd also want high body roll classes to have the most armor and threat (high dmg/threat weapons too).

I just kept going in and out the dungeon and farmed coins until I was able to buy my way pass him but thanks for the tips

giving him money is way easier to do since he's in early game and your team probably won't be strong enough; you can farm money in the late game easier instead of buying stuff in the early game.
