Jungle Secret

Okay... How the heck is the secret in Jungle Room 12 by 36 even work? I get the Metal Detector into the yellow before it just goes black, as if I've gotten the secret, but I haven't.

Wait by the left exit and eventually there will be a bird carrying crate, shoot at it and it will drop a health upgrade.
