here are two mild cheats that you can do to get/save some money:
-In the main pause menu with the character portrait, quickly press L1,R1,L1,R1,left,right,left,right and Select(Map button).
You will hear a sound and $5000 will be added to your money total.
(this cheat will only work once per save file)
-Go to any merchant and find an expensive item you want to buy, but don't have enough money for. Then keep pressing the button attempting to buy it (merchant will keep saying "not enough money"). If you do this 30 times in a row, the merchant will then say "Fine, you can have it..." and he will take any money you have and then give it to you. If you have $0 then you will get it for free, so better to spent any money you have on food/health items before doing this. (you can do this one time only and it doesn't work on ng+).
Wallace’s mines are indeed iffy:
1. At first I thought they were ammo (no time to have a closer look) and tried to get them: BOOM!
2. Then I tried to shoot them: no effect.
Hence I decided to try and avoir them (and curse them also). It never occurred to me to try and melee them, as no other enemy/world design element so far was gun-proof but no melee-proof. :-/
Just for the record, to defeat Wallace, it took me:
- 3 × ammo v1
- 2 × bomb v1
- 3 × ammo v2
- … and way to much health items (I made the mistake of using Medicine B)
(I had 90 HP, 150 ammo and 90 bombs)
That means this boss fight made me poorer than I was before fighting it, as I believe bosses don’t give any money when you beat them. :-/
Thankfully, the enemies in the next area are rather generous in healing/supply items, but I still have to grind for the next weapons… I fear this pattern will repeat.
