All I have is Glorious Eggroll, so I am extremely confused and scared to change any settings now. When I get a new game, I first try to launch it normally and if not working, try GE. Reverse: 1999 just works so I have no idea.

I don't see anyone posted this guide from someone who manage to work it out so here is what she/he posted and there are people posting that it worked for them:

you can check there, a year ago it worked for me and for some other people too. They did broke it after that.

And this comment say - this does not work anymore.
And video you linked - is 11 months old.

No I mean that no one has posted here that advice from Gagantous youtube page.
and posts on Gagantous youtube page says that it still works (it is only 2 months old posts)

Now if with the new updates they broken it again then that it is a different story

I said - this game can work in Proton/SteamDEck/Linux - but it require extra manual steps.
Without those steps - it wont work.

This game 100% does not work in "default" SteamDeck/Proton/Linux.
My theory - maybe it related to GTA5 anticheat - they did something to bypass it and somehow it impact this game, or maybe they "run windows on steamdeck"(but they say "proton" so idk).
I want to see more people say it wokr/not on default SteamDeck/linux - to be sure, maybe im missing something,.

I was able to get it working using the guide available on the Steam Guides. You just gotta tie your account to a email address if you didn't do that already on mobile, and then you log in with that, go into the account settings, and tie your Steam account through there.

Reason being that you can't login with Google or Facebook because Proton does not have the Microsoft Edge runtime needed to do that.

Re99 never worked on Linux - wine does not matter - there anticheat that dont work.

However there is way to play this game on Linux, but I can not share this info in public.

I played re1999 from launch on deck, and can confirm it worked up till the camp event was released, since i ended up burntout around then

The game worked on my Steam Deck just fine, I'm running it with GE-Proton8-15. Using the same exact version on my PC however had no success.
I did not go through account creation, I used my same login from the mobile version.

I really want the devs to make this happen as I also wanted to play this on my Steamdeck, so I can save some phone storage. NGL, I tried to see if this worked on the Steamdeck and I was disappointed that it exited out of the game, before it ever reached the title screen.
