So can we only play as anime girls in this game?

I was hoping to find a shooter that would have a bunch of unique characters, so far it looks like this one is going the route of Snowbreak, Tower of Fantasy, and a lot of getcha games. I assume this game is going to use some kind a paid skin, premium currency mechanic to finance it.

I feel like the market is already over saturated with the generic anime girl trope of plug suits, boobs, and booty. I'am just asking because I am looking for an alternative to the failed shooter "farlight 84" since the game play looks similar to that game back when it was good. But I kinda feel like just having humans, and female heroes makes these games less interesting in 2025, since that trope has already been done before.

Nothing wrong with having a lot anime girls as heroes, mind you, I just wish there was a bigger selections of heroes outside of that.

Those games you mention are for mobile and doesn't look good. Fate Trigger is just better #AnimeGirlsFTW

It's a bit of a catch22 - if they release male characters they don't sell very well. But then, perhaps due to lack of variety it doesn't trigger a lot of people's wallets for those specific characters. So far I am only interested in Fate Trigger because of Kira, if she wasn't in the roster i would likely also consider Fate Trigger generic and boring.

So the devs have a choice - either release enough variety of guys so it sells, or just keep released girls - i think the latter makes more money.
