Config.ini | File is missing?

I just got this game and tried to run it but the config.ini file is missing?

Was really looking forward to GTA 2 Style game cuz that would bring back soooooooo many memories. :)

Hey man, that shouldn't be a problem. If the config.ini file is missing it just generates a new one with default settings. Does the game itself actually load up?

No, it doesn't load.

When I try to load the game, with Task Manager running in the background, I see the executable appearing & disappearing just as fast.

I only assumed it was because of the config.ini file was missing, because no config.ini file ever gets created, even after attempting to start up the game multiple times. (does it delete itself upon shutdown?).

I've asked for my brother to send me his config.ini file (which he does actually have) to see if that makes any difference.

Do you require any other info from me to help you with this?

Really eager to try your game out, man.
I spent so many hours playing GTA 2...and am itching to get in there!

Hey man, that seems very strange. Do you have a log.txt file? Geneshift/data/log.txt

This might explain what's going wrong. My guess is that your graphics drivers need to be updated.

Yes I do have the log file - I copied the entire content of the log.txt file in my original post.

It simply cannot be my graphics drivers because I had tried it on:
[Radeon Software Version]
[18.12.1]
And then I just recently installed the new Adrenalin 2019 versions (released few days ago/last week..they're brand new):

[18.12.3]

The log.txt file says there is a missing config.ini file..so I thought if I had that file, it would work...maybe.

You got a copy of that file for me perhaps?

The config.ini file isn't needed. In fact when you first install Geneshift there is no config.ini file on purpose. Having said that it looks like it's crashing while trying to create a full screen window. So I have created a config.ini file asking for windowed mode instead. Let's see if this works:

Copy and paste this into a text file and save that as Geneshift/data/config.ini. Let me know how it goes!

I did notice something weird though.

If I were to change resolution, sometimes this log would change from:
1.16: Native Resolution: 1920x1080

to

1.17: Trying Windowed Res: 1152x648

Strange, no?

Anyways..don't worry about it..I am sure it will get fixed eventually.

Ahh that sucks man, I'm sorry to see that didn't work. It is clear to me that this error is something related to graphics drivers. Have you tried updating them to ensure there isn't a bug in your latest driver build?

Yes I did, I tried the latest AMD Adrenalin 2019 driver (had 18.12.1 - tried 18.12.2 & 18.12.3)
