Invisible enemies
This bug is probably known, but often (once per floor) an enemy will completely go invisible as if I killed them but is attacking while invisible for a few seconds. This can be quite frustrating and caused me to die on a few occasions.

Not sure what causes it, but I'm certain it's a bug. They simply go invisible for no reason.

Actually that's a champion like the red/green/blue ones except they don't glow, they just fade in and out of visibility.

Really? I wish it were more clear that was the purpose. It comes off as a bug

and I certainly see it now that I finally got an invisible enemy room. It just really comes off as accidental when it happens to random enemies.

I don't think it's a champion ability. It's only been happening to me since the latest update -- and the enemy only fades out after being hit. All sorts of enemies at random, in every room, seems like far too often to be champions. (It's happening more often than I see any OTHER kind of champion.)

I also thought this was a bug, untill I got to an invisible enemy challenge room. If you pay close attention, you'll find that the enemies who turn invisible also have slightly higher health than regular monsters of their type, so it's definitly not a bug.

What makes it look so buggy is that when going invisible, they use the same effect as despawning/spawning enemies do.

exactly. That's why I thought if invisibility were a thing at first that it would have a different visual effect/animation.
