An interesting weapon especially to use on groups, but what exactly is the difference between the regular and alt fire? More damage? I know the alt fires slightly slower at least.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

The alt fire dose more a area as you can see when you use it in a big room it will almost light up the whole place i think it might be a little weaker but wider range i hope this helps

The alt fire zaps enemies in a wider area.

The alt fire increases the number of targets hit (from 3 to 5 IIRC) and the hit area.
