Looks bad for Rhodes, they probably ran into some sort of wall there :/
I hope this time there'll really be an official announcement soon. I'd be curious to know what happened with Rhodes and the Taker of Cities, it seemed interesting and they were still showing previews of that on facebook late last year.
Either way I guess adding Corsica and Sardinia was the most requested map expansion so it makes sense. The Nuragic building models also definitely seem great to have for custom maps.
Curious about the dozen new Nuragic factions. Seems like a high faction density compared to the rest of the map.
If they squeezed in all the relevant sites and maybe added some in the inland there might be enough land to go around for 12 factions with 3 cities each. I went with a low city density similar to Lazio+Tuscany or Sicily and ended up with 25 Towns.
Though maybe there is an additional sandbox scenario like with the Etruria-only or Sicily-only scenarios. They both also had a slightly higher density than normal (they spliced in Velch and Sicani respectively). So maybe some of those Nuragic factions only appear there?
Judgeing from the description which does not really tease any new spotlight feature I'd assume so aswel, and not doing so would be very silly, Sicily is a great short campaign. Admittedly Eturia is a bit boring, but the islands at least have a reason to build boats.
PS: Wishlist-Squad, eh!
But I think maybe we just discovered this thing a bit early, since there is no official announcement yet and the store page says "more details coming soon". So maybe there might still be some other feature besides a map expansion... It looks like the reveal is kind of still under construction?
I wouldn't really mind if it's all Nuragic factions, we can (and will :p) mod others in anyway... Just, from a historical perspective, some of that land should be reserved for others assuming it's based on the same time period as the rest...
I guess we'll learn more soon. Very interesting though :)
looks really early indeed, SGZ mentioned a hint at an announcement so I'm pumped. Wondering if he's seen this already.
The Isles were settled by Phoenicians and Greeks VERY early so I could Imagine a scenario playing out the colonization of the Isles but for a Grand campaign it'd be very wierd going before that.
Also Mega-kudos to you, ifitbl33ds!
The woes of entirely self-imposed modding duties :P
Yeah, so I have money and I'm happy to throw it at Longbow because they're an indie studio and I love the Hegemony "concept" but substance is important. I'm sure we will see more of that substance once more details are released. I would hate to think they have spent two years on just two islands (albeit with some pretty cool buildings.) C'mon Longbow, you're so much better than that!
