Thing going for Hegemony: Gold is its campaign of Phillip II. Its fun, it has quests etc.
Edit: We do have an updated version Gold map as a sandbox up on the Workshop, thanks to a few of us bugging Rob about it since forever. Lacking the campaign goodness from what I recall though.
With the new DLC on the horizon though I think H3 will win out. Just wish they would bring over the Gold map and incorporate with Heg:3's map for a super campaign. -dreams-
