Anyone else unable to get this game running?

I bought this in the sale a few days ago and can't get it to run. Whenever I try to launch it, it shows as "running" in the games list for a few seconds and then just... stops. As if I'd never hit Play at all. I can't find any clashing programmes, I've uninstalled and reinstalled again and again, and I've verified the integrity of the game files. Anyone got any tips?

Isn't there a windowed screen, which opens after the game-start?
