how to set up TrackIR

ok, i have TrackIR and i cant find a setting anywhere in options to get it to work, ive searched google and on these forums, does anyone know how i set it up?

What TrackIR version are you using? I can't remember doing anything besides starting the game. Is your TiR software running before you start the game? Are the LEDs on the TiR camera on (red? green?).

Make sure you run newest version of TrackIR software and to update your games list in TrackIR as well (menu in upper left corner -> check for game updates).

Once you have TrackIR plugged in and newest sotware installed and running, IL2 should detect it automatically. Most of window in TrackIR program is for testing / setting up - right click on big field and switch between 3d view and camera view to see if and how it works.

If you see your head moving in TrackIR program, it should be moving in IL-2 as well.

If you're using a very old version of TrackIR that does not work with new software, you need to edit configuration file to run IL-2 in compatibility mode. Do it only if nothing else works and you're sure your hardware is this old.

A temporary solution for TrackIR 3 issue wass found and implemented. Start the game, then close it, find the configuration file in <game folder>\data\startup.cfg, find the section [KEY = input] and set the parameter as shown: old_trackir = 1

Just had problems myself activating trackIR in game. If you are running win7 you have to start steam (not only the trackIR-software) as admin. After that, it detected TrackIR instantly...
