Guns not firing

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix this issue. I am starting a new career after a long time of not playing the game and for whatever reason my guns refuse to fire on mission start. Changing the key bindings does absolutely nothing and once in a blue moon, maybe 1/100 times I load in and the guns will work just fine, but otherwise it doesn't seem to work at all. I don't know if the game is just straight up broken or what. I really hope someone knows a solution to this because I just bought the other careers for the game and I was really excited to get started but I can't even play the game. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Edit: Okay so I've seemed to have found a fix. In the ready up screen, switching my ammo to empty and then back to fully loaded it seems to fix the issue, however, you have to do it every time you go into battle or restart a flight. Hope this helps anyone in the future that might have the same problem

I'm just using a mouse. I just tested all aircraft on Quick Start and they all seem to work completely fine. I just started a career on Battle of Kuban and i'm flying the Bf-109 F-4. For whatever reason it seems to ONLY be on my career that the weapons refuse to fire. Its a mystery to me

I am on my non-IL-2 gaming PC, so cannot test it on my end, right now, to see, if it is a weird actual game bug, or if it might be something you have to hunt down in your game config settings.

Will test this tomorrow. Maybe somebody else can check this quickly.

only thing i can think of is to reinstall the game just in case the files have gotten corrupted over the time that you werent playing

going through this issue as well, guns work if i have gondolas, but if not my guns will not work and my AI will not shoot either.

I cannot replicate the issue.

The only time my left mouse is not firing (default global settings) in the BF, is when the 'Input Device' is set to joystick. Then, the 'Fire all guns' Key Mapping is not bound to the right mouse input.

When I switch 'Input Device' from 'Joystick' to 'Mouse', the default setting shows the left mouse button for 'Fire all guns' ... and it works, as advertised.

Did this on the Kuban Campaign in Career Mode and Quick Start.

Disclaimer: I am playing the non-Steam version! So, if this is a SteamAPI issue, incl Steam > Settings > Controller running in the background (even no controller is hooked up) or Steam Overlay thing ... then, this is to be considered.

I would not call this a game 'bug' as such. In the end, could be a dozen things, that pop into my head. Impossible to know, due to PC configuration, input methods, drivers, WIn OS settings, etc. A game log file, might not catch this neither?

... are you certain, your Player profile folder is not write protected? (Windows read-only)

This would explain how you could edit the settings during gameplay, but it would NOT register permanently, when you restart the game.

Not really sure. The only fix seems to be switching my ammo to empty and then switching back. This is only a problem with the Bf-109 series. I don't have it in me to dig any further to be honest. I can't use bombs which sucks, but I just don't know how to fix it.

I have the game downloaded on my new SSD that I got for Christmas. No idea if that changes anything.

Yes, I have noticed the same problem in the last week (since, I believe, there was a recent update). My 109's ammo counter doesn't work, stopping around 335- 7.92mm and 135- 20 mm in main gun. This occurs around 50-75% of the time. Neither have i tried to figure it out, and I just live with it. It's now December 15 in Stalingrad, I have 84 kills, and I just want to survive.

Run a file integrity check. Sounds like something got corrupted in the update.

This happened to me in career mode. They do know about it and are looking into it from all that I can tell. In the meantime they have a work around. See this post https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/90191-no-more-shoot-in-b109-stalingrad-with-the-last-update/

Just ran into this problem today randomly. Did you get it to work properly or are we SOL for now?

There is a hotfix that should resolve the issue, in the post above yours.

Thanks, I did find a work around. If I change my ammunition to empty and then switch back before battle then it works again. And I've also finished my career in Moscow which seems to be the only campaign it does that on. But I appreciate all your guy's help
