Anyone knows when the next IL-2 GB sale will be happening? I would like to get Bodenplatte, Moscow and BoS. Am I able to purchase BoS through steam and other stuff from the official IL-2 website? Lastly, if I purchased a collector's plane and BoS but DID NOT purchase the full Kuban, Normandy, Bodenplatte, would I still be able to play on the maps for multiplayer using the collector's plane? I would like to purchase Griffon Spitfire for Normandy (or is it Bodenplatte?) and Fw-190D-9.

As stated, in MP you can play on any map that is being hosted. It doesn't matter which maps you own.

As far as aircraft, you will be able to fly any aircraft in your collection that are made available by the server.

The servers often run scenarios and different plane set matchups, like early war or late war aircraft.

Yes, you can do this. There is a readme somewhere on the IL2 forums about how to link the accounts together.

I suspect the Spitfire Mk.XIV that is already available to Early Access patrons will be available as a Collector Plane soon after the Normandy map is released. The version advertised as a pre-order will have a different canopy design, and because it is still in development it may be released later.

The version already available for early access patrons isn't the collector plane? If I were to pre-purchase this version, would I also receive the different canopy design in the future or separate purchase?

No, the one that's out now as EA is a Collector Plane that will be included with the Deluxe Edition of Normandy and sold separately as an individual CP on Steam, just like the P-38 with Bodenplatte and the P-40 with Kuban. The pre-order is a variation with the tear drop canopy; the project is to give the newly hired modeler some experience.

Both versions might become available at the same time, I don't know. The two versions of the Yak-9 Collector Planes were released together so there is a precedence for that also.

Okay thanks. I will just get the pre-order so I can save money by not getting Normandy for a high price and the bubble canopy is nice.

You'll love it! Since you like multi-player, take a peek at Advance & Secure dogfight server. It runs a capture the flag style game geared toward tank battles.

Loads o fun to be had bombing players and strafing them when their commander is out of the hatch. And enemy AI planes to keep your head on a swivel (and me! if you fly axis :))

I highly doubt Normandy will be on sale immediately at release. I'm quite happy to pay full price for new material. Only two weeks left till the end of summer so I'm guessing it'll drop in the next two weeks? You can't really call it a summer release if it drops at two minutes to midnight on the 31st now can you ... well technically you can but we all know that's really a fall release ...

most MP scenarios limit the plane selection to their preferred era.

But I can fly it on Normandy servers no? That's all I alwant, to be able to fly Griffon and regular collectors G-6 on Normandy servers.
